Matchmaking issues

Hey I wanted to open up another discussion on making matchmaking better, fixing it…. I noticed recently that I like many others continuously get new profiles to fight against, low levels, low endorsement, and while many of these players are legitimately new, and I don’t mind offering some advice and lessons being a skilled player with a fair amount of experience, however…. this is also where all of the GM players have re-rolled profiles, and banned players are creating new accounts which have completely skrewed with matchmaking because, all of these new players and even experienced players struggle against a grandmaster in quick play….. and I feel like all of these losses to GM and hackers is negatively impacting my qp matchmaking putting me against more of these….. unsavory types…. as well as pairing me up with more and more NEW players who have no place being in the same game as someone with well over a thousand hours of playtime… please fix this, one way…. maybe make the impact of a loss, less signficant if the profile is new….. that way at the very least you’re putting all of the best and all of the worst players together… so if they’re new players they’re getting the BEST advice from the most skilled players…. and it will also add to the accuracy of cheating reports as these Smurfs should be the BEST people to spot cheaters and report them and are far less likely to send false reports as many of them are also cheating, just not as easily caught as I assume its easier to hide an aim bot assistance when your own aim is already pretty impressive…….

my suggestion of course being… add factors to the algorithm that factor in play time, character levels, player levels, etc, to ensure better matchmaking, as well as endorsement levels….

you should also add factors to prioritze bans and reports based on account age…. as people who spend a significant time playing are far less likely to risk the loss of a profile they have spent money or time collecting the best skins and achievments than a new profile specifically created for the purpose of cheating, either by smurfing or by aim bots or the like…..

None of these are factors in match making.

All it looks at is your MMR and then tried to put you with people on similar MMR on the nearest server to you.

I was discussing similar with someone. Ultimately, anything like that would just exacerbate problems. And seems to only come from people looking at it from a “not in my match” pov. Not a holistic, whole game view.

You know why all these weirdo 1 sided games happen? Stacks and ppl hopelessly abusing the said system. It costs you 0$ to create an OW account.

The solution is a premium membership with a monthly fee.

Or the old OW1 method; buy the game once and get unlimited updates.

But ye, matchmaking is horrible..

I think the algorithm is confused. Its solution based, solution is creating a game. In the end it just slaps body parts together.

Edit: All games above the standard time (8mins qp, depends on map in comp) are worthy. Means if it was a game below 5 mins… let jesus sort them out

we were winning until a tank left at competitive game and we were still getting kills after a tank left why should we be punished when a tank lift why should we get minus points in our rank
