That probably means you play as well as a silver or gold ranked player because your mmr is as high as the gold/silver player.
Matchmaking creates teams based on performance, not playtime.
Im guessing by level 10 he is playing Quick Play which despite its claims that you’ll be “matched against players of your skill level” this is complete and total bullship and in fact there is no MMR whatsoever in QP. In fact it just matches you against anyone (clearly visible before the hidden profiles).
Its basically a complete and total lie put in front of your face because Blizzard are so honest…

It is broken, I play mercy, mei, rein, orissa, zen and while I admit my aim is probably about gold level I have played in diamon/ platt games in the early morning (when there aren’t enough players) and managed to more than hold my own on my console account. but during the day I get lumped with gold and silver playerswho seem to have no game sense whatsover. I had a reaper the other day who tried to teleport a payload distance to a enemt zen right in front of him looking straight at him. I had just helped clean off the defenders off the payload and had no health left so it was just the three of us and the reaper decides he’ll teleport in front of the zen. How are these people making it into gold? I have seen people stuck in bronze with more game sense.
That’s a hasty generalization. You can’t assume that the whole system in general is broken due to one bad experience.
Anyways, If you want to have fair matches, I reckon you should play competitive. Both QP and comp uses the same MM system but comp has an extra rule. If the gab between your team’s an the enemy team’s SR is too large, the game won’t start and MM is looking for a new team. In QP, it tries to make fair fights, too, but it takes too long, it has to discard some priorities.
The best thing you can do is change your mentality. Instead of checking a player’s rank or lvl, just see them as an opponent. If they are very good, don’t think that MM is broken. See it as a challenge you need to overcome. It is especially fun to kill the enemy widow as mercy. When I did it, I’m always like

when ı started playing at my own ı was matching with players around my level and after ı played one match with my higher level friend now ı’m alone fighting gold and silver player’s. that’s totally not fair. how am ı gonna win against 2 years of experienced players while ı’m just playing it for a couple of days ? rest in peace my beatiful money. ı will never buy another game or product blizzard ever sell again not again.
Think about it this way - most of the new accounts are smurfs, if you want to play with them it’ll be worse than the silver portraits who casually play QP and don’t care.

Again, perfomance based matchmaking, not playtime based.
i played my first game of the new sesason. and my team had 4 players who under 100 lvl. This means they are new players. My lvl is higher than 700 and i was gold at last season. So just tell me how can be possible ? How they can be in my team ? Also if this is the ranked system why we have different frames and endorsment ? I played my first game of new sesason and i waited 4 munites at base… Because there was just new players at the team. Im not blaming low level players because its about Matchmaking system. Pls Blizzard Pls fix this.

There is pretty much no more matchmaking in QP. There is some, but it’s a joke and too inconsistent to be worth discussing.
If you were say a diamond player prior to 2/2/2 you’d mostly see diamonds/plats/masters with the occasional gold/t500. Seeing a silver was an extreme rarity and you’d pretty much never see new players or bronze players. This is the case no longer lol and everyone plays with everyone in QP.
Congrats, you just discovered old news that OW MM is screwed up because it judges people mostly via the performance of the rest of the team, lol
