Maybe we could get more golden lootboxes?

Soo I have been struggling to get the things I want in events recently. Usually I get base sprays and avatars in lootboxes. Maybe there could be more golden lootboxes, (for sale or at the beginning of each event?) just like anniversary?

There where hammond lootboxes recently and in september and oktober there will be golden lootboxes

A free golden loot box every 50 or 100 levels seems nice.

It sounds really nice yet that would be exploited. Players can wait at level 99 and when an event occurs, they get a golden event box easily.

The same case was with the progression reset at each prestige (lvl 100 star). Gaining lvl 102 required as much xp as lvl 2. Blizzard didn’t like that so they changed the xp system.

For that reason, I doubt that would be a good idea. Except… what if you only get a regular lootbox regardless of whether an event is running or not. :thinking:

Why would they give you golden boxes, is this a charity ?! They will sell them to you.

Only an incredibly sad person would do that. They could just play on their smurf but it seems like too much just for a golden lootbox lol.

Those sad people did it with the old xp system as well and Blizzard took action against that exploit.

No matter those people are sad ones, it is an exploit that Blizzard presents to be possible.

I mean, it’s not really an exploit if they just want to wait until an event in order to open it…

The “afk for better loot” tactic is something blizzard doesn’t want though.

Jeff has explained why they changed the xp system in a forum thread:

This change has nothing to do with a desire on our part to drive more or less interest in loot box sales. This change is to prevent players from binge behavior or halting play… and to prevent players who are not close to prestiging from feeling like they somehow missed out on “bonus” items. This change exists to add levity to the leveling experience.

A golden lootbox every 100 levels would just encourage binge behaviour so they won’t add that.

However, it would be possible if golden event lootbox are excluded. You would only get a regular golden lootbox no matter what event is running.
