Why did they buff FtH? As a McCree main who’s tried her best to improve aiming on McCree since the game launched, it’s sad to see other McCree’s only relying on fan the hammer. I’ve been in games where McCree’s never even used left click once, only flanking or running up to people just so they can stun+fth for an easy kill.
It feels like all that time I put into improving on my main hero was for nothing, and there’s no point in aiming anymore. More often than not I’ve been right clicked before I can hs another McCree, because I just have no intention of doing the same. I’d rather die to a McCree that at least aimed at me than someone who just used stun+fth. I’ve tried using that combo in Deathmatch and I just felt horrible, it’s not even fun.
I love and main McCree because you need to practice to have good aim, and once you have good aim it should reward you, not spamming FtH. It’s really sad to see.

They buffed it because it was aways better to stun and headshot.
The moment FTH is not better then that, players will go back to stun headshot and that ability will be ignored. And tbh dps are a joke this season anyway.

They did the same for junk, I upped my accuracy and then they did the 2 mines and you saw junks, miss, miss, miss, oh f it, throw 2 mines, dead.
They love to buff simplistic low skill abilities.

It still makes me smile that the community adds the prefix ‘Mc’ in front of whatever defining characteristic McCree happens to display.
Still remember his vanilla days when he was known as ‘McSkill’, presumably with irony intended!

Basic combo is reliable and consistent but it forces you to reload.
“Advanced” combo allows you to keep shooting after killing your target but it’s not consistent due to the connection, the position or movement of the stunned target and muscle memory.
I don’t see the big issue unless you’re a skill fanatic, who’s stopping you? The advantage you get is very universal so your “effort” wasn’t wasted.
Also DM in OW doesn’t work, it’s a joke unless hero 30 is an exclusive DM hero for DM mode (QuakeWatch or FragWatch) and McCree still needs aim. Are you telling me FtH is so good you can spam it all day? Sniper accuracy? Consistent? Don’t make me laugh.

If the other team lets a 200 hp hero stand 0.1 ft away from them and spamm then they fully deserve to lose and de-rank back to bronze.
On top of that you’ll see how needed this will be once reaper gets buffed.
And if the other team lets someone stay 0.1 ft away from then they mai will just do much better by mass freezing people with M1.

It’s a valid tactic, just like pharmacy, goats, pirate ship, deleting Tracer with Brig or dropping Rein shield with her bash until those two were nerfed out — if it gets the job done players will utilize it.
Mccree isnt the best flanker. His loud as well.
If you dont see him in his team, then his flanking.
His not a Tracer or a Genji that can go to the other side of the map in a matter of seconds.

Never said he was the best flanker, however expecting every single player to have radar awareness when they are focusing on the enemy, or coming back from spawn, or treversing the map and suddenly get flash-fanned is laughable.
There’s nothing skillfull about fth, there’s nothing in it’s use that deserves that level of power nor should players be ridiculed for dieing to it.
A poor McCree who just spams fan the hammer will obviously get the odd single kill as that is the nature of the ability. However a skilled McCree with ace aim will tear the entire team apart. Keep perfecting your aim !
You dont need every player, you just need one player to tell everyone in voice chat that Mccree is up to something.
The only time its oppressive is when your team lost a member/s then mccree can go ham for the clean up, but at a disadvantages spot everything will have a better time cleaning.
Flankcree can only work in low ranks, since his a hyper carry that needs to be next to his team. Its a 200hp toon cant be that hard to stop and if you stick with your team, the mccree wont solo you.
