Mercy is unplayable with new hitboxes

Some heroes, like mercy, rely on not being hit. And now that’s way easier to do. 50 health doesn’t make up for that.

No matter how I move, I can just be clicked twice by a cassidy.

Shoot back. You have the most forgiving gun hit box in the the game. Take that Cass down and show him who’s boss.

It’s really difficult to fight back against a medium range hitscan if no one’s distracting them for you.

I have more trouble with cass than i do with widows as he’s quicker to readjust to your new position than a sniper that peeks from behind the same corner, only to be headsot by a bullet you fired a second ago and already moved on…

The 1 second buff to guardian angel helps with projectiles and snipers, but cass has been a problem since the grenade buffs (wich were thankfully nerfed, but extra bullet size is very icky)

You can’t even use your wings to block headshots while rezzing anymore as people can just shoot past your model now and still hit that sliver of hitbox that they wouldn’t have been able to in the past. Not to mention that the spread wings enlarged your hitbox massively, you’re the size of a tank hero while flying.

The healing debuff feels very unrewarding as well.

It seems clear they are trying to move supports in to “what utility do they have” rather than “heal heal heal”. Which is defintely the right way to go, but they defintely haven’t nailed it.

Zen for example is all about discord and damage (both a little too strong atm).
Lucio, speed and damage
Mercy, damage boosting
and so on

I think this is a healthy direction to take supports.

There are better ways to approach this.

The hp buffs have made the game even harder for supports as we’re once more reliant on our own team peeling for us because it’s harder to kill the flankers that come for us. Which means we’re once more playing a walking simulator while the rest of the team blames us for not healing.

In a 1v1 the fight should be capable of going both ways. If healthbars go up, then people who deal low damage should have their damage buffed.
Moira got their damage buffed, why did no one else?

If the devs wanted to nerf supports, just deal an over all healing nerf instead of this. At least that way people can learn how much can be healed, instead of fluctuating numbers that confuse people.

Tanks and dps can only focus on the speed at which they’re healed in between battles, which is when the debuff is not there to perceive. It leads to misconceptions of how much they will get healed mid battle.

I think this is where the “skill differentials” will come in. If you can consistently duel and enable your team, you will probably climb.

honestly… this is what I wanted. But I think this DPS passive is an interesting way to nerf the healing in a fight, making duels more engaging, without directly nerfing the healing.

It is a bit rough for tanks. But I think the power of supports has enabled a lot of our (as a tank main) bad habits. To that will take a little time to adjust to.

Most did on the tank from. DPS were ok on that front, just pocket healing made the job unbearable at times.

This goes back to my “bad habits” bit. If you can’t be punished for bad positioning, eventually you start to think that is a good place to be. Now, you fall over for that mistake.

Both issues could definitely be dealt with an over all 15 or 20% healing nerf.
That would still punish people for bad positioning and nerf the upkeep in a “duel”.
It’s not a duel if one person has support, and usually in those cases if the person i’m helping hasn’t won in 3 seconds i start shooting and rez my teammate after.

I did consistently win duels, because my opponent was capable of missing shots when i dodged. Side stepping used to be the difference if you won or not.

My hands shake, my aim is terrible. So technically this bullet change should help me. I don’t like it though, since i still miss shots, but now my opponents don’t.

Zigzagging and running circles around an enemy used to help me win the fights, now it doesn’t matter as much anymore. I can’t crouch to avoid headshots either, as the bullets will still hit.

Gamesense won’t help with climbing if you can’t land shots or survive.

It just feels very bad…

Tanks are the ones no one likes playing atm. You are a like a shining beacon of ult charge.

Mercy was always under heat, you can rez someone and turn the fight. I ll focus a mercy over an ana any day of the week. You just gotta live with that fact.

I played a bit mercy myself the past days, she has a better movement than the new phara tbh. You can do some tricks, break movement mid flight and fly to another team mate, break that and go back to initial one, etc.

I’ve played enough of her to know how to dodge mid flight.

If you read my messages you’ll see that all of my complaints are about the recent changes, not about basic gameplay of being a mercy and being hunted down. (I did climb to plat with her while queueing solo)

Her movement was enough to dodge around even before this ga buff. I didn’t mind her not having the same health regen as other supports.

My biggest problem is that now it’s easier for everyone to hit her massive hitbox.

Yea agree… I used to have no issues pulling myself around and escaping even when targeted. Now you can just be easily shot no matter your movement

So back to the main point, this has nothing to do with GA. I’m saying the 50 extra health does not make up for the ability to be hit way easier.

All the hitboxes are now like huge rectangles, this should be adjusted in an up comming patch.

I just killed a kiriko hiding behind cover by just shooting next to the cover. Whats the point of cover or AD strafing at this point? Its like that workshop mode 2D OW right now. This patch just changed too many things at the same time.
