Mercy performance, where do I need to improve?

Took a 2-year break and now I can’t get out of low plat/gold on support with maining Mercy (2405 current); Any advice is welcome.

Stats for current comp season as Mercy:-

Win rate: 47%

AVG/10 Min
Healing: 11,031
Damage Boost: 1,789
Rez: 6.06
Deaths: 4.76

I personally wouldn’t choose Mercy as there are better healers out there. But if you enjoy the hero then it’s all good. It’s hard when the team splits up. I sadly don’t have much advice as I don’t play her. I can just recommend others.

If you insist on playing Mercy, then focus on which DPS you can pocket. Your healing should be secondary when you start climbing. (as long as your other support is doing their job). Blue beam will win fights.

If you’re locked on to a tank, you will probably struggle to get beyond plat.

Obviously, the most ideal step would be to play someone else rn.

Thanks, it depends for me with damage boosting. I’ll try and flick to a tank if the hog hits a hook or rein throws a fire strike. Otherwise, I tend to focus dps in general!

it’s probably a combination of 2 things.
if you are solo qeueing then pocketing becomes more inconsistent as the others hero picks relate a lot to your success playing mercy.

the second thing is most likely ressurection prioritization, in the right circumstances it’s an ultimate on a 30 second cooldown.
in the wrong circumstance it’s nothing more than free ult charge for the enemy team.

if i were solo qeueing mercy i’d look up ways to make up the lack of good options to pocket and i’d also look at scenarios where ressurection is a good idea vs a bad idea.

for example a mercy rezzed me when i was sitting on my ultimate on a scramble for the last part of King of the hill map and i managed to use my ultimate to clear off the entire objective and win us the game.

the other example is that i died and the enemy team moved up and i got rezzed and due to the enemy changing position my old position was not a good position to be in resulting me in dying almost immediately again having done next to nothing of value.

I am not a mercy main but I do like her, the only thing I can say is to pocket dps and tanks when they are fine of health, and only res when it is safe.
