Mercy Twitch Drops

Can I have Twitch streaming in a separate tab and still recieve the Mercy drops? Or do I need to stay on the stream page at all times?

You can leave it running in a different tab, but I’m not sure if you can mute it though.

You can have it mute on Google while doing anything else and it will count
I might or might not have done that.

Can you chromecast it and have the tv running in the background?..

Hi all.

I just want to add that Google Chrome has a power saving feature which will pause a broadcast if you mute the tab and navigate to a different tab — this will obviously prevent you from earning any Mercy drops. So be careful!

My Android TV has a built-in chromecast feature and I can confirm that you will not receive any drops when broadcasting the stream. The reason behind this probably is that you cannot log in to your Twitch account on a compatible device.
