So uh, this is a technical problem, but since the technical server is for "Installing, launching or staying connected in overwatch, imma post it here.
I’ve just been wondering if it’s possible to use the microphone i want to use.
I currently have my mic in my headset, which i don’t wanna use,
My USB microphone, which i want to use,
And my webcam mic, which i really don’t wanna use.
My problem is now that Settings have automatically switched to the Webcam mic, and there is no way to change that other than taking the webcam out.
I could go < Settings < Sound < Voice chat devices
And there is: Default Devices or Comms devices, but both are the Webcam microphone, so what does one do here?
Thanks for taking your time to read this.
Hey MrWolfy
Within Overwatch go to Options -> Sound -> Voice Chat Device and leave it at Default settings.
Then move over the audio symbol next to your clock on the Windows System tray and right click select ‘Recording Devices’.
Go to the recording device, you like to use within Overwatch and make it your default device, by selecting it and hitting the Set Default button.
Hit Okay and go back to Overwatch.
Go back to Options -> Sound -> Voice chat device and hover your mouse over it.
You should see, your preferred USB device in the tool tip that appears.
Note: This topic should be in Technical Section. The technical section is not just for connection issues, and server related problems. It’s for all things technical, which this one is.
