Mouse sensitivity

what parameters effect mouse sensitivity in overwatch? (other then DPI and in-game sens),because I have recently formatted my pc,and after setting my mouse DPI to 900 (which is the DPI that I had before formatting the pc) and making sure that my in game sensitivity is 6 (which is what I had),my mouse sensitivity still feels weird and diffrent.
I have a feeling that it has to do with some other setting in my mouse driver software but I’m not sure.(because after playing with those other setting in the software I have only really felt a diffrence in my mouse speed while I’m using a normal windows app,and not in the overwatch client.
I have a Maurus GX gaming mouse, and I’m using the software the was provided in the box with the mouse.
this is how the software looks like:

thanks for reading.

Your windows sens also matters. It’s normally at 6 (default), but you might have tweaked it earlier, which got reset after a fresh windows setup.

Maybe you should turn off mouse acceleration both in Windows Control Panel and in Overwatch? It usually causes some weirdness in mouse behavior.

Thanks for the help, Star and Corewood. :relaxed:

boypig24, I would definitely check what they said. It’s very possible that your Windows mouse settings are different that what they were before formatting.

Oh I didnt know that windows sens matters, because in some other forum post that I have read earlier today somebody said that overwatch pulls raw mouse data without the influence of the windows sensitivity.
I will definetly try tweaking the windows sens
thanks!

No the Operating system interfaces with the mouse using the known mouse drivers it has access to, to read raw data from the mouse. It then passes that raw data down to all the applications to use, which is why windows mouse settings normally are at more lower levels.

Applications like Overwatch interact with mouse events at a lot higher level.

Well, in theory, it should definitely work as you described. But as of practice, Windows could interfere with some settings as if it’s settings have a higher priority. So I would check this out, at least for throwing this assumption away.

Check Your Polling rate and make it 1000.
DPI should be low, 400-800, so your small handshakes do not interfere with direct Your mouse movement. Sensitivity is all up to You.
Windows doesn’t interfere with OW sensitivity(unless windowed)
