its a horrid op ability, ooo boy free nano with no downsides. either make it her ult or make it so it has a resoruce that can only be applied for 3-4 seconds before needing 10 seconds to come back
A resource meter on the damage boost beam would be lovely. Why blizzard hasn’t done this by now, i don’t know.
A resource like that could be similar to moira’s, or illari’s.
Illari’s maybe. But make it take longer to recharge than hers if it’s used up entirely.
I think we can’t nerf Mercy dmg boost without buffing other aspects of Mercy. For too much people dmg boost is the only thing that makes Mercy reliable after S9.
Also if Mercy is boosting someone, it means that team is playing 4 vs 5, I really doubt even if Mercy is dmg boosting a Bastion it will make extra dmg as a Kiriko or a Baptiste.
What is worse? Having a Soldier with 25% extra dmg shooting at you or having a Soldier + Kiriko shooting at you…
Nano boost is much more OP
Mercy only boosts 25% dmg.
Ana nano boosts 50% dmg + 50% less dmg taken.
except anywhere below masters no one can fathom shooting her. she is a busted character while she has blue beam. its because its 25% damage buff with no other downsides. she can instantly swap to heal and back with no cooldown, her movement is unforgiving and has a god awful amount of health. I play support its horrid when dps cant kill her. either drop her health to 175 along with any other high mobility characters or remove blue beam. her heals as is are fine
44 hps isn’t fine though…
They could put a resource meter on the boost, or an overheat mechanic like in orisa’s gun. That would limit it’s use a bit. (Could also nerf it by 5% on top of something elsr)
If she is boosting someone she is doing nothing in the game, that team is playing a 4 vs 5… 25% dmg boost is nothing compared with the dmg potential of other support heroes like Zen which can use Orb to also do 25% extra dmg for all other 4 players or Baptiste/Kiriko who can do dmg as if they were DPS…
We could imagine a charging time, like first 0.5s only boost 10%, 1s boost 20% and 1.5s boost is full with 25%… but with that Mercy will be definitely be the worst support to pick in the current state of the game, we would need to buff other aspects like the heal done or the efficiency of her glock…
That may be a skill issue or lack of coordination between your team… long/medium range like Cassidy, Soldier, Ashe, Widow… should be able to do the work if they want and also flankers like Tracer/Genji. With a little of pression on her, she will become much less effective…
I’m playing all roles and as DPS/Tank if we struggle to kill the other players because of a Mercy I know thats my team fault, as Support I only pick Mercy if I want to chill in QP… it’s definitely not my pick if I want play seriously or going Comp, other supports have more dmg potential than Mercy dmg boost and can do better at healing.
If we do that we would need to buff other aspects for Mercy ( preferably Merci glock )… Moira and Illari it makes sense since they are able to heal multiple heroes at the same time (with Illari pylon), without limiting heal done they would be too op healing multiple heroes, if Mercy as a cooldown on her staff, she will be useless for some period if no one is needing heal…
That is the point.
If she is given some caveats or resource management, some parts or her could be better.
If they tied a resource meter or an over heat to the damage boost, they could maybe give her that +5hps to her healing. That way she could do 48hps through the dps passive and move from her “4th worst” in healing numbers to “maybe 5th worst”.
Her kit is very limited as it is, so it’d be nice if she was allowed to do what she’s supposed to.
(Or add 5dmg per bullet to her glock. I’d take that too)
Nano is an ult. Damage boost is a constant ability with zero cooldowns and a long range and means a constant 25% more damage taken by everyone on the enemy team, which is pretty bad with the current dps passive.
They need to remove her damage boost and replace it with better utility that benefit her team rather than a single player.
Thats nothing compared to the dmg potential of heroes like Kiriko, Baptiste, Lucio, Zen, Illari…
For me is one of the worst ults in the game, mostly of the time uselles if u cannot combo it with other ults like Genji or Soldier
And even then, you can put heal it, use immoralities, or just move out of the way.
Most of the time, good Ana players will use it to save their tank. Other times they’ll use it to enable another dps player to make a play.
Mercy’s damage boost enables even the worst players to be oppressive with her damage boost.
