New Maps are a terrible experience

Flashpoint and Clash Maps are a terrible experience and not at all what Overwatch 2 needs imho.
Even the Assault Maps like Volskaya were better.
The game is going into a terrible direction already but these new Maps truly make me wanna stop playing the game.
It simply feels like the only thing that is coming after Overwatch 1 is Battle Passes and Downgrades…
I dont get it.

Also terrible is that the ratio of these new maps seems to be adjusted upwards. I get them way more often than older maps.

That is a hot take. all the 2CP maps were walk to choke and hope they didn’t have a bastion bunker or double shield.

If you believe that, then that is defintely something you should do. Don’t give them more of your time if the game isn’t fun for you anymore.

Yea 2CP was definetly not great but I like the new maps even less.

And yea maybe I need to.

That’s fair. Personally I like that there’s a mode that forces a different play style to the “normal” modes.

Needs tweaks. But it’s an ok start.

At least they’re listening to the feedback now.
But stick around, and keep giving your feedback.

I just got the egyptian map twice in three matches just now.

I feel like that the Clash maps are oddly boring and at the same time stressful. They also seem to favor a specific group of heroes more than other maps do.

Yea somehow I think they are pushing the new maps at the moment…

One thing I don’t like is the roller-coaster of emotions: “Nice we won the point! Oh no, now loose a point. Nice we won another point! Oh no we lost another one…” thats becomes too frustanting in Flash and Clash

This is annoying me too, yesterday I played “Assault Maps” in Arcade, I was already tired of being forced playing clash at least 1 every 3 games… I hope this ratio does not last longer.

Yeah but isn’t that the same for a lot of maps.

For years people have cursed the sniper heavy maps. And now we have a mode and maps that flavour more high tempo brawling.

Game used to have some great maps until they got rid of them in Competitive and replaced them with god awful ones.

Paris… What a map… Everyone loved it.

I mean… it was funny to boop off the opponent off the first point as Winston in Primal Rage^^

but yeah Clash is just a failure that makes me wish that 2CP just coming back to Quick Play… And Flashpoint maps are too big, the newly added Speed Boosters at the Spawns are a Testiment to that.

Yeah, jokes aside. Paris is the map I learnt how to play Ball on. That first point was fun for Ball.

Overall though the map suuuucked. And every map they’ve released since has been infinitely better.

I wonder, how much is that down to it being new and requiring a different play style… And will that view change once people have figured it all out?

The speed boosts were definitely a nice QoL change.

Yea. I personally really liked Paris and Volskaya. Still sad that they are gone.

Actually, I liked most of the old 2CP Maps. Paris, Volskaya, Temple of Anubis were really great.

Lunar Colony was interesting. A bit odd but interesting.

Hanamura I felt like was a bit like a fast food burger. Once in a while okish but can leave a stomach ache if you have it too often.

idk what happened to Blizzard’s map design but it’s all become very boring and generic.

OW1 maps like Hanamura, Lunar, Even Paris, all felt different, unique, they had character.

As do the new maps. I think it might be a mentality thing…

If you’re of the mindset that OW2 sucks… Then you’re always going look for reason not to like something it brings

Yea, I do think the new maps have character. That is actually one of Blizzards strong sides. In all their Games, even as far back as Warcraft 3. I simply do not like the mechanics of the new maps. Chaotic, rushed and unpleasant. Not my cup of tea. Maybe would be ok to actually get these maps as a neutral ratio. But they are definitely heavily overrepresented in the queue at the moment.

This is fair

Clash was always going to ruffle a few feathers because it requires such a different play style to what people are used to.

It’ll be interesting to see what its like when the dust settles. A lot of people hated Push when it came out, but you don’t hear quite so much heat towards it now.

Trust me, if the new maps really were better than the old ones, I’d admit it. I’d say I don’t like this sequel but the new maps are better. That wouldn’t change any of my views on 5v5.

You should also believe me because I started the above sentence with “trust me”.
