As others have pointed out, we have a lot of DPS and Tank heroes to choose from, but fewer support options. With that in mind, I’d like to propose an idea for a new healer:
Theme: Alien/blob
Main Weapon (Left Mouse Button): Goop shooter (similar to Fortnite’s Goo Gun). It shoots a string of liquid in close range that sticks to enemies, causing damage over time.
Secondary (Right Mouse Button): Deploys an alien drone (resembling Ben 10’s Goop alien drone) that hovers over an ally’s head (similar to Zenyatta’s orbs), providing healing over time. The player can have up to 4 drones in inventory that charge over time (like Symmetra’s turrets), but only 3 can be active on allies’ heads at any given time; These drones can be destroyed by the enemies (but they must have a decent amount of health, maybe like Baptiste immortality device. Each ally can only have 1 drone. Additionally, the more drones in inventory, the higher the health of the healer, incentivizing strategic drone placement. So essentially, spreading drones makes him weaker.
Retrieve action (F key): Retrieves all drones from allies back to inventory, providing a quick health boost in emergencies, such as an enemy flank.
Skill 1 (E key): Grants a quick heal boost to every player with an active drone (including the healer), similar to Lucio’s E skill that gives a boost on the effect. The amount of heal of this effect can be increased in a buffer (like Doomfist’s blocking skill).
Skill 2 (Shift key): Executes a dash in the walking direction (similar to Moira’s dash), leaving behind an acid puddle that damages enemies. Also inflicts damage to enemies that touch his liquid form while dashing.
Passive skill: Dealing damage heals active drones and charges up the heal for the E skill boost.
Ultimate: Enhances the efficiency of all active drones. The main weapon gets a great buff on range and velocity, along with infinite ammo for the duration. And the biggest twist: Enemies hit by the sticky goo will receive damage over time indefinitely until they are eliminated or until this healer is killed. Essentially they are marked to die until it happens or they kill this alien. They can extend their lives with a large amount of healing, but at some point they’ll die.
While healing multiple players simultaneously may seem overpowered, it can be balanced with limitations such as range. Unlike Zenyatta’s orbs, the drone may have a range limit, returning to the player beyond that distance.
