I’m not a Nintendo user (last thing I played from Nintendo was Wii ^_^") but I like reading about new tech.
I heard that Nintendo Switch will have a “mouse” function, and I thought: how will it affect the gameplay of FPS games? Do you have any thoughts on how it could greatly help the gameplay for Overwatch players on Switch?
It looks amazing but I really doubt that it’s a proper mouse Function it would Surprise me But let’s wait and see…
The way they showed it was both of them were Skating across a surface which doesn’t quite match the mouse and keyboard function…
Still I think it could be huge for a certain type of game and they will probably have a particular game in mind to showcase its usefulness like Splatoon was for the gyroscope And like Wii fit sports was for The original wii…
Keyboard and Mouse on Console shouldn’t be a big deal tbh… on the PS3/4/5 you can plug in a USB Keyboard and Mouse and it works just fine… unless the Games doesn’t reocognizes it
It is funny that FFXIV on my PS5 is the only Game that does that and let’s me write and click like a PC user… but tbf even on Console: If you play an MMO, you gotta have a Keyboard for communication!
OW2 kinda recognizes my Keyboard on Console when I write (only when the Software Keyboard is active, which is a pain instead of just pressing enter and write away)
but also for Game Devs a Keyboard and Mouse shouldn’t be rocket science.
I’d be surprised if it works in such a way that it would applicable to FPS games.
We shall see.
It shouldn’t, but the devices people use to enable them allow them to have up tuned aim assist… and that is problematic (cheating).
I’ve always said it should be natively supported and match making should be based on input method. But it doesn’t seem like there is much appetite for doing that (otherwise it would have happened by now).
