So, I just got my CHG90 Samsung monitor, and it’s 32:9 in aspect ratio.
So I wasn’t aware until recently that Ultrawide support was quite… lacking due to how the Overwatch team at Blizzard claims it gives the ultrawide players an unfair advantage by being able to see more, so instead they decided to punish the ultrawide users by cropping the image, making it zoomed if you play at 21:9.
32:9 isn’t implemented at all, which is a bit of a disappointment for me.
So, I was just wondering if there’s any news any of you’ve heard lately that may hint towards them fully supporting the ultrawide / super ultrawide aspect ratio?
If not, here’s a small message to the team behind Overwatch:
Dear Overwatch team.
If you feel that the 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios give the users an advantage, why not just enable it for casual play? It’s not a competitive mode, not ranked anyways. Besides, people have high refresh monitors and low refresh monitors, if an ultrawide aspect ratio gives an advantage, don’t the high refresh rate monitors do that as well?
I’m asking that you please consider implementing proper support for those two aspect ratios, atleast for casual play.
Thank you
