I doubt that. It’s difficult for us lower ranked players to tell the difference. For example, there were quite a few situations where I was pretty sure the opposing DPS was aimbotting; I showed it to some high diamond/masters players and they all agreed it was no aimbot, just a player with good aim.
So far, I’ve only encountered 1 or 2 obvious aimbotters in 3 years of OW.

i class smurfing as cheating, if their aim is higher level than their skill they don’t belong in my rank and hence are smurfs/cheaters
Sadly though, there is a difference between smurf and alt accounts. Blizzard are not interested in it though.
To a point, I kind of understand.
Say a Masters player gets a new account, places in Plat. As long as they play properly they will be off into high Diamond/Masters pretty quickly. And the Gold/Plat players they initially play against won’t see them again. So what is the actual issue…
The only thing they can act on are the ones that are actively de-ranking accounts. But that is really easy to spot if the profile is open (one of the reasons hidden profiles was a very bad idea).
The other big issue is players that buy pre-leveled accounts or boost friends accounts. But that is a whole separate issue.

Good aim ≠ skill. OW is not a pure FPS. You can have amazing aim and still be crap at OW.

Yeah. The classic Widow one tricks that forget there is a point/payload.
Which is why, sometimes, if they have a good Widow… Best play is to watch your heads but just ignore them, and win the 5v6 at the point.
The game is indeed riddled with aim cheaters, weirdly there is more in QP than comp in my experience but frankly its one of the main reasons the game is as dead as it is, along with almost nothing new worth speaking off, unless you consider recycled events interesting!?
By the way I’d ignore almost everything Nightwing has to say, he spends his life on this forum it seems, perhaps hes attempting to compensate for something.
I believe his peak is very low SR plat or so. He types like hes writing facts but its just his opinions.
He stated on a post of mine a long time ago about cheaters, where I provided videos, he scoffed, even though Blizz has acknowledged action against at least 6 aim cheat reports I’ve submitted, including the one he of course knew better about.
I always send them the replay code.
He wouldn’t know what an aim cheat was if it shot him in the face.

This did happen. It was peer reviewed and verdicts given.
Believe this is a new batch.
It is relatively easy to stay low rank, especially with 6Stack derank groups
Then that person having a 2nd, 3rd, or even 17th accounts isn’t the issue. Throwing games is the issue.
And If they got rid of hidden profiles (please!!) you’d be able to easily spot it and report it.

The game has bigger problems. Mainly the tank role.
Smurfs and cheaters are infrequent and not worth losing sleep over.
