tl;dr:
Losing will only give 1 ticket, if you use a ticket and still end up waiting longer than the estimated time for those without a ticket, your ticket will be refunded.

Very cool update to it.
so… from 2 tickets for a loss down to 1?.. and this is supposed to Incentivise people to play tank how?
you make a system in order to get people to play tank… which actually starts working… then you nerf it into irrelevance…
if im gonna get 1 ticket, i might as well wait the extra 5 minutes in queue rather than waste 5 minutes in an unwinnable match against smurfs playing a class i despise…
Its not. Its supposed to be a disincentive to those who were throwing games for quick passes. While not punishing those who are just currently not very good on off roles.
You play more, you get better, you win more, you get more.
But the way you describe it, the system was never intended for you. It was more for those with a good attitude and willing to learn. Rather than just the “I want passes” attitude.
well it disincentivises everyone from playing tank
because 1 ticket?.. waste 5 minutes on a role you’re not good at and will get tilted to save 5 minutes in a DPS queue?
the cost benefit analysis makes it not worth while, you might as well just wait the extra 5 minutes in DPS queue and DM or you tube while waiting
its typical blizzard using a sledgehammer to fix a problem that requires a scalpel, instead of punishing the throwers, they punish everyone and make the system they made to improve queue times obsolete
and no, the system was intended to increase tank players it means its for everyone
now… im more than willing to play tank (and i did for the passes) but… because of the RNG matchmaker, and smurfing/cheating problem, the majority of my games are losses through no fault of my own, so… in order to persuade me to play tank, you have to reward me for doing so, regardless of the outcome of the match
now… me and thousands of others have absolutely no incentive to play tank, because the reward is not worth it
Don’t play tank then.
Easy solution to your problem.
I won’t go into why you lost, easier just to let you believe what you believe.
i wont, and neither will thousands of other people who did play tank for the passes
so the problem of long DPS queue times due to lack of tanks, which was solved by the Pass system, has now returned because the pass system has been broken by blizzard in a cheap and lazy effort to stop throwers
its not my problem, i used to wait happily to play DPS, but, in an effort to help the game, and because i was being rewarded sufficiently for doing so, i played tank, i tryed my best, and win or lose my reward was used to play DPS which is what i wanted
bottom line?
Blizzard just further disincentivised people from playing the most needed role adding further to the death of the game
not just my problem, its blizzards, and yours, and anyone else who plays the game and enjoys it
Good. Thousands of other have found they enjoy tank from it. So swings and roundabouts.
Can’t be for everyone.
You tried, you didn’t like. So moved on.
obviously not otherwise they wouldn’t have had to nerf the passes to dissuade throwers
2 separate issues but ok.
Ultimately you didn’t like tank thats cool.
And if the game dies, it dies (it wont). After all it is just a video game. Plenty of good games before it and plenty of good ones will come after it.
You play what role you enjoy, other will play theirs. No need to be made about a little token gesture system that hasn’t quite landed perfectly yet. Theyve said they’ll tweak it over time. Maybe it’ll be better, maybe it’ll be worse. Who knows.
it is and will, due to blizzards inability to balance, constant pandering to the OWL/Pros instead of the real people who keep the game running
i do
if you have 2 tank players 50 support players and 10,000 DPS players, you can only fill 1 game at a time leaving 10,048 people waiting in a queue, this will lead to a dead game
its blizzard, so worse… they release something that works, then they break it, its what they do
All just your opinions and we hear them.
Good luck in your games. Hopefully your negative attitude won’t affect your game play!
nope, its fact, hence the long queues, hence the constant breaking of heros, hence the inability to do anything correctly on blizzards part
the fact you don’t like it doesn’t make it any less true, you can’t ignore the long queue times, which proves the facts you are trying to ignore
I haven’t ignored the long ques. I just don’t care.
I play the game I enjoy, with friends I enjoy playing with. When in a queue we will either chat nonsense and have a laugh or go mess about in a custom game.
Never have to queue longer than about 8/9 minutes anyways, and even then that is when it is really late.
People make their own minds up and do their own things. If they choose to not play any more, then so be it. We move on to another game.
you will, when the game which you obviously love and shill for so hard dies
weird that you claim to love the game so much, yet you heil with the vigor of a soldier from a certain historical German political party everything that is harmful for the game and will lead to its death
Shill… Of yes those confidence tricksters and swindlers at Blizzard lol.
I do love playing this game yes. But if it died tomorrow, we’d just go play more of the other games we already play.
The world keeps on turning. And they are just video games after all.
I what. Lol. You are a strange chap. My apathy towards this situation seems to have riled you.
“damn those who enjoy something!!!” haha
its more
“damn those who enjoy everything that will lead to the destruction of something i enjoyed” but whatever shrugs
I am not sure me, or anyone else, enjoying playing Overwatch will lead to the destruction of anything.
But there you go. It is just a game. It isn’t that important.
to you maybe
i prefer to actually enjoy what i spend my money on for a very long time, and not throw it away after 1 use like a piece of toilet paper
I’ve been playing for nearly 4 years. Think I have got my monies worth, and will continue to so. Not bad for a £12.99 game.
But if it died tomorrow. I’ve had a good run. Enjoyed my time and made some good friends. Can’t ask for much more (except for getting better at the game lol)
