Now, to be clear: I don’t hold Blizzard responsible.
At the end of the day, it’s a risk I accepted by buying one of these goram things, and it’s my addiction to OW which has landed me in this mess. Thankfully, my TV is insured. Here’s my question:
Is there any, and I mean any, possibility, of adding in a cycling colour feature whereby the ult charge meter cycles through gradients every 20 seconds or so, in order to avoid burn-in altogether? The ult charge meter is the only part of the UI which has burnt in. The only alternative would be to play one game at a time, with a long break in between matches.
I’d love to avoid this problem when my set gets replaced. I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed that the systems you’ve introduced for the colour-blind features recently will make this doable. I can’t afford to buy another TV just for this one game. I’ve seen from poking about online that I’m not alone with this issue either. It’s always the ult charge meter!
Cheers
from what i know a oled tv is quite expensive for being a tv and taking the risk of destroying it is quite an expense. buying a monitor to specificly play games on is probably way better. even tho it comes with a few expenses like having to buy a good desk and possibly a comfy chair and offcourse the monitor. but its still more worth that destroying a tv.

but maybe lowering the brightness can help. but what do i know
Thing is, I game a lot and nothing else has burnt anything in at all. It’s specifically one element of Overwatch’s UI - which could be patched quite easily. But yeah, I hear you about the risk – I just don’t really have the space for an additional monitor or TV either. And, since doing a search and finding many OW players with OLED problems, it would be very nice of them to save us a few grand.

I have the same issue with my 2018 LG OLED. The Ultimate circle is permanently burned into the screen together with the “Press ■ to change character” bar, above it.
Pretty disappointed about this to say the least .
