Hey,
am I the only one who does not like playing competitive games lately due to toxicity and poor team play? there were of course games where everyone works together and is sweet but there are not many games like that lately. sometimes I also feel as if Quick Play becomes better than competitive.
I hope to hear what you think about how the game has been played lately.
Greetings,

I assume that comp has more toxicity but better team play.
I assume that quick play has less toxicity but worse team play.
This will be because players care less about winning in QP and thus are less likely to use team play, and since they don’t care, they are less likely to throw a fit at the first sign of failure.
So take your pick. I simply can’t play QP, because it’s a zoo of incompetence.
no, you legit have it wrong, the team play in Quick Play is better then in a normal Comp game, in Quick Play players know if they do bad and they switch, in competitive its like they think they are the best and the team is the worst, but this is my oppinion
(sorry for my english)
Well, if it’s your opinion then it’s not legit, is it? Legit means that it’s an indisputable fact, whereas if you say something is an opinion then you’re acknowledging that you may be wrong. So, you’ve kind of said both there.
Anyway, you’re right, it is only my opinion.
Quick play is terrible. I’ve been so upset with the state of healers that I just switched to play off tanks like D.va Road and especially Zarya but I can’t learn anything in QP because nobody picks anything other than DPs so getting heals and a main tank to back up or even somebody to wait so we can combo ults is a nightmare. That being said, it’s almost identical in comp

Toxicity in a competitive game is actually a good sign; people actually care about winning in this game. Of course people have feelings and they get hurt by words more often than not, but honestly, toxicity is common among all major eSports games.
Just report, mute, avoid and move on. Blizzard has given us enough means to combat toxic behaviour.
As for Quick Play; it’s fun for new people and sometimes with friends, but I find it now to be a waste of time. There is simply no goal in Quick Play, other than to “have fun”, but most people (other than children) usually need a goal to actually obtain to have fun. You can’t replicate the happiness of being rewarded for your achievements by just having mindless “fun” for long.
No point in playing Comp anyway. Just gets you frustrated when 90% of the time you get matched against smurfs.
QP is just weird you can be Reinhardt, have 2 healers and still not get healed, they seem to focus their healing on the dps players who dive 1 vs 6.
The last time I played comp was back in season 9 or 10 I think. It just feels very unrewarding for the amount of effort I used to put in. I main Zarya so I was insistent on people being in VC, having good positioning (tanks in front, everyone else behind, etc), comboing ults, and so on…
so when I found that around half of the people playing comp were completely clueless and did none of the above, I realized it’s just not worth it, and I end up getting frustrated that I couldn’t climb.
A couple of nights ago I thought what the heck, I’ll just do my placement games and see if anything’s changed now. Well, 10 placement games turned in to a 3 hours comp run, and while things haven’t really changed at all (other than the meta), I’m not going to lie, I actually had fun.
It’s like a slightly more organized version of QP, with a few more people in vc. That’s it.
Take it from me, that is a myth. You most definitely can learn and improve your skills in QP, you just can’t do it every single game. Given that it’s QP, expect to have a decent game with 2,2,2 comp, in 1/5 QP games. That’s my experience.
In those other 4/5 games I just mess around, have fun, play Pharah, Hanzo, whatever. But in those 1/5 games where the stars align, you can definitely play your main heroes and improve.

Interesting post you made there, maybe you still remember me?
I joined your Team in QuickPlay after someone left end-game, I quickly discovered some teammates tried new roles because they simply were bad as hell, which I made vocal via “This Team is so bad”.
Short time later, Bryan invited me to a 1:1, in which he lost 2:5 or so, he threatened to put the whole game on YouTube btw, I have all the footage if anyone is interested.
So to make this clear again my dear “friend” that toxicity you encounter in your games, is due to your lack of skill and not being able to adjust, I offered you help and training which you declined.
