Hi, I have this proposal, which could reduce the toxicity that there might be on ow2.
Simply adding an option in the solcial settings to hide the details during the game (the ones that appear when you press tab), I don’t think it’s a particularly difficult change to implement and I think it could make the game less stressful.
Do you think it could be useful?
Unpopular opinion. I like the public statistics.
No more arguing over bronze damage, now I know how well you’re doing and you know how well I’m doing. And If I’m doing badly, I’m gonna feel badly about it because EVERYONE knows.
My personal take.
I agree tbh. We already get “I’m gold damage blah blah”, it’s always going to be toxic. At least this way we can see how well players do.
No. That entirely negates the point of the scoreboard. If you’re worried about others seeing your stats, do better. That sounds harsh but the truth is that we spent 7 years with people feeding and not playing their roles while blaming the teammates that were doing their jobs and playing well.
If your stats are poor, ask yourself why? Maybe you’re slacking on reassigning your heal orbs on Zen or you’re trying to play too solo on Soldier, or you’re being too risky on Rein. Maybe you’re just dying too much. Figure out why your counterpart on the other side is doing better and try to copy them.
From what I’ve seen, the scoreboard reduces toxicity. The only people I’ve seen called out are those that have blamed others for their performance and then people have just pointed out the scoreboard.

Doesn’t matter if you hide it, toxic players will be toxic.
The only people who truly want it hidden are those with something to hide. Same with Hidden profiles.

Nah I like being able to see clearly how I am doing and also I think it might actually reduce trash talking because you will be able to see that most people are actually contributing even though you might sometimes feel like they are not.

I feel like they should just remove these stats altogether, or maybe find a way to make them less of a target to flamers.
Completely toxic right now. It’s horrible and not fun to play when being harassed by others…
What sort of toxicity are you experiencing from this?
Personally I’ve not seen any, so interested to learn what others are seeing.
Only change I think is needed is hiding the enemy stats till after the make, makes it far too easy to track ults…
