Hi, I read somewhere that the purpose of linking overwatch accounts to console was to hang onto promotional items, etc, from other editions of the game. I started playing on console back in the day and I bought Origins edition on the PS4. I eventually moved over to PC and when I linked my accounts I eventually realized the Origins/Legendary Edition skins were still locked. Is this an intentional thing or are the skins meant to carry over? I even had the Kerrigan skin for Widowmaker and that obviously is not in my possession either.
Hello Onedogpoopin,
Linking a console profile to a Blizzard account is indeed meant to be used for rewards related to the other Blizzard games. So you won’t get any OW skin transferred.
With the Origins purchase you get as extra rewards:
- Heroes of the Storm: Tracer hero
- World of Warcraft: Baby Winston pet
- Diablo III: Mercy’s Wings
- StarCraft II: 6 In-game portraits
- Hearthstone: Overwatch-themed card back
Linking your console to the Blizzard account lets you claim these extra rewards on the Blizzard games mentioned above on PC while the OW skins included in the Origins are still only for console
