As I can see right now Overwatch 2 just looks like they added a co-op story mode and ability upgrades. To me, this does not seem it should be worth $60. This could have been adding on to overwatch I thought they said Overwatch would get 10 years support but might have miss heard that but if it’s true where 4 years in and they look like they’re abandoning the game.
Who will still playing ow classic?I mean u can also say who is going to play css or csgo is the same as 1.6 lol
But CSS came out in 2004 and CSGO came out in 2012 that 8 years that needs new game its been 4 years of overwatch. also i think people will still play overwatch but to me its seem there skiping the next thew years by saying your progress transfers
Gonna ramble a bit here, sorry it’s not succinct.
Well firstly, I’m not really interested in “changing your mind”. Your mind is your own and from my perspective, you’re just another blob on the internet so you can make your own mind up about things.
Personally I think a full priced expansion is great and it was exactly what I was hoping they’d do. I’m glad that they’re bringing over all the skin assets that they’ve produced over the years so all that work comes over and they can use this influx of revenue to really polish things up and add lots more content. Believe it or not, but game companies have to have revenue streams otherwise they can’t/won’t work on a game.
So, what ways of generating revenue are there?
Well, there’s the old school expansion packs, which it looks like they’ve basically done, except they’re calling it Overwatch - 2. I pay my money and I get a boost of content and then an assurance that they’ll keep on updating and improving things, which I trust Blizz to do, based on their track record.
Then we’ve got the more “modern” ways of sucking money out of customers. I’m talking putting all the content behind a thousand micro transactions. Then there’s “battle passes”. Imagine a world where you had to purchase each skin and spray separately? I hate it. I just want to lay down a chunk of money at their feet and then enjoy the ride. That’s what Overwatch provides. I also play the game a lot so earning the skins and stuff actually adds to the gameplay experience for me in a positive way, but I understand that people who don’t play the game very much might find this to be a negative.
So, I’ve got like 2000 hours on this game and all I’ve paid is the initial price for the product and then I purchased the special moon Mercy skin that came out quite recently. I was happy to do it, because I’ve got my moneys worth 50 times over with this game. It’s brilliant. The only thing better than Overwatch is more Overwatch, and I’m happy to pay full price every 4>5 years.
Now, they haven’t revealed how it’s all going to work yet, so it may be that they’ve also got some annoying micro transactions on top of this, and if that’s the case then I’ll start complaining. As it stands right now though, I don’t feel ripped off.
The change my mind thing was just a thing to add in for comedic effect I do stand with some of the things you said like full price expansions but with a lot of content now dose this count for the story may be for me its going to be how long is the story will be 5 hr 10 hr hey maybe 3hr that what making hard for me thinking I should buy this game. for all we know it might not even be 60 its could be 30. just need to see how they will handle it and need new information
When did they say it was $60?
that the price of almost all the games that come out and also i did mention in another replay that it could be 60 or 30
Do we know it’s 60? I mean, Overwatch was 40.
wait, it costs SIXTY DOLLARS?
Looking at the old game when it came out it was $39.99 USD but if you add on Origins Edition Its came to $60 USD. So looking at this i do think it will be 40 dollars but they most definitely will release some Origins Edition with this game or i could be wrong and blizzerd (activison) could say “hey you added more content then orginally mabye bump the price up” so im not sure what the price will be.
Excuse me but who in this world is still playing overwatch as its main game ? Oh sorry i forgot, only throwers, noobs and leavers. Also waiting 30 min to get a comp game as a support, you call this a big community? Nah no one is supporting ow classic anymore, just look at the forums and all the ow pro players leaving the game. This is just the perfect moment to release ow 2, cuz they’re losing their players.
Blizzard takes my money and make overwatch 2 as good as was the ow classic at its release.
They haven’t told us the price, have they? But I agree it does not look like worth a full game price.
Those who care about pvp.
OW 2 showed nothing that would interest me. I don’t care about pve content, I don’t care about skill progression. The cinematics were cheesy as hell and only repulse me.
I’m the first one who care about pvp on overwatch, i love this. But unfortunatly all the “serious” players and smart players left the game. Now im just forcing myself to play because i love this game, but not the community. And honestly the idea of a pve in overwatch is not hyping me at all. But if this can reboost the ow community, then its a good thing.
Ps: No one care about pvp in ow classic for the moment. Just show me ONE game without any throwers/toxic people/leavers.
Nobody knows yet, they haven’t told us a price
They’re nuts if they charge $60 for an expansion with some reskins
only way to make people play this would be to make it F2P
yeah, maybe then. but still just maybe.
The engine they used for Overwatch 1 apparently isn’t equipped to handle PvE stuff. And people kept asking for PvE, so basically it’s a new game or nothing.
or, you know, you can update it?
So long a blizzard has its tongue in China’s asshole i wont be spending any further money with them no matter how many shiny baubauls they dangle in front of me
