Overwatch 2 Log-in loop. We need help fixing this (Blizzard, please look into this ASAP!)

I have no idea wtf is going on with the game at the moment.

I can’t even get into the queue, it just keeps resetting the login information. I’ve tried uninstalling, restarting, and closing the Battlenet app. No idea what the issue is, there were no problems earlier now it’s just constantly doing it. I put in my details, and every time it just goes back to log in and password…

I just want to say, when I first opened the game it automatically sync my battlenet details, I could get into the Queue, and after an hour or 2 of waiting; I made it into the game menu. After I pressed the merge account button I was asked to restart. Ever since then I cannot get past the login screen, and I mean the MANUAL log in screen. The battlenet doesn’t even automatically sync to my game now, it just keeps asking me to manually enter my email address and password. Once I’ve entered them, it does its thing saying connecting, and then throws me back to the login and password input screen. I cannot even get into the queue at all.


EDIT - Things that have been tried by myself and other users, and still not being able to fix the login loop

-Reinstalling the game
-Changing regions
-Deleting the overwatch folder from documents (Default location)
-Resetting router
-Flushing DNS
-Disabling firewall and antivirus
-Password and account change
-Clean windows install

  • Repair and scanning the game
    -Purposely deleting game files to force a repair fix

Update - oct 8th

Temporary fix?

A possible temporary solution has been found.

-Make a new account
-Use a new phone number for the new account
-Login seems to be successful after doing this

I want to emphasize that this is not an ideal fix for people who have accounts needing to be merged or people who have paid for the battle pass, as your main account will still not be available. I’m posting this solution for people who are just desperate to play with friends or who are new players that want to stay F2P and just ran into this god awful bug.

I am also unsure if this temporary fix works for everyone. (MAKE SURE TO USE A NEW ACCOUNT AND NUMBER) It doesn’t work changing anything on your main account.

PS: Please continue to raise awareness as our main accounts are more important. Thank you!

I also have the exact same issue… this morning i wrote a ticket to the support, describing every single detail. So I guess we just have to wait. I’ll write here if I got any news :slight_smile:

Similar issue here, I can get into the queue and ‘entering the game’ but it then switches to ‘connecting’ and either puts me back in a queue or prompts me to login again. I’ve tried every fix known to mankind without success.

This is frankly appalling to be locked out from the game completely and I’m very frustrated that my friends have been able to play just fine whilst I can’t even login. If you’re reading this and have discovered a fix I’d be very grateful for your input but in the meantime I hope Blizzard fix this ASAP. Surely this should be top priority.

That would be lovely thank you. My bf is having the exact same issue and has tried everything. First day it only happened once but since yesterday he’s been having the same loop as mentioned above. He’s going to reinstall windows later as an absolute last resort, which we doubt will work but hey, least we can say we tried anything and everything.

I’m having this issue too, endless login loop. I don’t know if its related but my email on my account is unverified and every time I send a verification email I never receive it? Probably unrelated but figured it was worth mentioning.

Hopefully mine said connecting for 2 hours so I finally closed the game and tried again I’m currently in a que

Glad I’m not the only one with this problem, entering game, connecting, then login screen repeat -_- . Hoping I can play soon

Same issue here
I could play right after launch for about 3 hours
Then took a break and after an hour started up the game again
But as the rest here, did it prompt me to type in my email and password and then the manual code from the authenticator, after the que is over
It then puts me back in que and prompt me to type email/pass word again, followed by manual authenticator code and back in que again, over and over and over
I have tried the following
Scan repair game
Reinstall game
Delete battle.net and blizzard from local, localLow and roaming
Changing password on battle.net
Uninstall battle.net and game and reinstall to different folders
Disable and uninstall antivirus
Restart router
Flush dns
Finaly decided to make a clean windows install
Only got windows 10, nvidia driver, chrome, battle.net and game installed now and it still does the exact same thing
I will make a ticket to and wait…
Btw i have not merged or linked anything

im also having the same issue, i played a few games on the first day, and after work the next day i wanted to play but i just kept on getting the same loop, its kind of annoying as i wait in these long queue times just to enter and then get told to re enter my login details. Blizzard needs to be on this as soon as possible.

Have this issue on my account but I’m able to log in on my wife’s account fine. Have messed around with different things (like unataching the phone number on her account and trying it on mine) to no avail. From the feedback the client is giving and from comparing it to how it behaves when logging in with my wife’s account it seems that at the last moment before taking you to main menu it is rejecting access. Almost like certain accounts are blocked. Don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist but… that’s one way to reduce traffic and stabilize servers. xD

Same issue. I removed my phone number from an account I wasn’t using. Verified it by SMS on this one, but the game won’t let me login. Stuck on the same ‘Connecting…’ loop.

Same here, I played it on the release day, after that it happened to me. I tried everything like relink my account, change pass … But still the same here, I am really upset about this how could this happen to us for almost 3 days?

Same thing here, tried almost everything. Thought maybe after todays update it will work but it doesnt. Hope they will fix this soon.
