Overwatch 2 upgrading for better performance

Hi, recently I have been having moments where I play (I play as Mercy) I fly to my teammate then my framerate dips into the low 40’s then only goes back up if I get eliminated. Is this a PC problem, Overwatch problem. If it is a PC problem what do I need to do to fix it? Upgrade parts? If so what parts?

it’s usually down to graphics card or ram, but i suggest you look at the requirements that they recommend and see what you’re missing and what’s within your budget.

but i will say this, depending on your monitor it can only support as much fps the monitor can handle so don’t go overboard on parts if your monitor can’t handle it.

I am just remembering to post my specs here they are
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz

GPU: EVGA GeForce Rtx 3070ti

RAM: 16GB

I can always get a monitor upgrade.

You should definitely be getting more than 40 FPS on that graphics card…

I do, but when I’m playing sometimes the frames drop to low 40. I play mercy for reference. Happens on new queen street and junkertown. New GPU time?

Something must be wrong with your PC then but I don’t think it’s the graphics card…

Try updating your drivers and reinstalling overwatch…

My drivers have been updated already. What could be the issue?

It sounds like a memory leak of some sort or something is being triggered when you fly to your teammate that is lowering your frame rate like it could be some kind of special effect in the game…

Try turning effects graphic settings to the minimum lowest and try turning FSR 2.2 high quality upscaling on…

Thank you. I’ll try this. Its something.

yeah you should be fine hardware wise, it’s something funky elsewhere. no new parts required.
