Hi, I’m posting here because my OW account has been wrongfully closed by Blizzard. About 5 days ago, I tried to log in, and I could not. I checked my email and found an email alleging that I had been using an unauthorised program to cheat in the game. I have never used such a program.
Before I receive comments asking me to simply not cheat and doubting my experience, I would refer you to Slime’s post (only closed TWO DAYS ago, super recent), in which the user claimed to have been banned for the same reason wrongfully, only to have their account reinstated by Blizzard after posting (implicitly confirming that, yes, this does indeed happen). I’m not asking anybody to believe me, I am just asking people to be responsible with what they consider possible of false bans. This has happened before quite recently, be a little reasonable, yeah? Could easily be a new trend.
I’d like to add that I already tried to make a post, and it was removed by the spam filter for being too similar to other posts (hoping this one makes it). So if it was a trend, it’s super likely that people on these forums would not actually even be aware of it. I also fear linking the post I mentioned in the above section here in case it registers as spam, as I did in my last post and perhaps that or my quotation of Slime set it off - no idea.
Have no clue why I was banned, my current theories are either that
a) Someone at Blizzard just does not like me.
b) Recent installation of Valorant’s cheat detection messed with something pretty invasively in a manner that made it look like my PC was doing weird third-party software stuff.
Absolutely no clue, those are just stabs in the dark, as I’ve received no word from Blizzard on why I’ve actually been banned after sending a ticket. Really disappointing as a customer of several years who put some actual money into this game. If this happens to you, feel free to use my post as precedent that this is at least a complaint being had.
They said in a ticket that they will send it to be reviewed and I should wait several days, and ‘resolved’ the ticket. This was several days ago, and I don’t see it going anywhere based on the language they’ve used, which in little uncertain terms describes how they won’t communicate with me really. Again, don’t think that’s great business practice considering this has happened illegitimately before and it shouldn’t take users posting to forums to sort this, but it is what it is, completely aware Blizzard can ban be for tying my shoelaces wrong if they want to.
