I play Overwatch 2 from Steam and I know how many bad reviews the game has, However steam achievements are cool, it would be a great idea to see more achievements being added in for the new features of the game that has been added recently. A lot of the achievements seem to be based on the old overwatch. This would give the game more purpose to play during 2023.
Why? theres is nothing fun about achievement hunting. They are absolutely pointless and dont give any reward.
The only people who like them are people wich feel the need to 100% the game, and for reason seem to think achievements are a must. And game developers know this so they make sure all achievements are completely pointless and trivial things wich are tedious and not fun to do.
Most achievements in games are like this :
jump 100 000 times.
Do this unpopular and unfun mode 99999999 times.
Eliminate a mercy wich is ulting in the air with a winston melee while a tjorborn gets killed by a genji with a specific skin all while the rest of the teams jump off the map during midnight at christmas.
achievements serve no purpose. They are repetative tedious and they dont offer any game play or fun. They just are hoops for people to jump trough and get them to keep playing longer. Because they know some people are obsessed with ticking off every achievement for their ocd.
You wouldn’t know what positives it could bring to a game that isn’t getting much attention, until it’s in the game. I suggest things like hero mastery achievements. Also this has nothing to do with achievement hunting but for achievement hunters who have already hunted down all of the overwatch achievements would start hunting for some newer achievements. I’m on about achievements that you can get from playing normally rather than an achievement that sounds like a kid has put into the game.

A lot of the steam data and reviews have been badly misrepresented by very disingenuous people on these forums. It is sad to see, but was highly predictable, even down to knowing who’d do it.
As for achievements, I agree, they should have more being added all the time to keep that side fresh. Not something I’m personally bothered about going for, but I know many who do.
