I recently changed providers from Sky Fiber to Vodafone as I was been ripped off long story short I have a new Router and I try to play Overwatch I can for about 10-20mins then BOOP the Internet is restarting this has only started happening with Overwatch I am still within the first 10 days which they did say Internet Restarts would happen but those happen like every 2-5 hours not every 10-20mins so the culprit is Overwatch.
So I’m not sure how I can fix this or why Overwatch is doing this it doesn’t happen on World of Warcraft only the normal provider restarts which I was informed about so why is Overwatch forcing my Router to reset the Internet every 10-20mins.
I need help its infuriating I’ve checked everywhere and it seems this issue is common with certain routers but didn’t see anything with my routers manufacturer.

EDIT: I have done the Ipconfig release - renew - flushdns from this
Blizzard Support - IP Release, Renew, and Flush DNS
I will see how it goes and see if it fixed my issue.

I will contact my ISP eventually after the 10 day period which ends on 2nd of August and if it continues after I will ask them to find out why the Router is acting strange with Online Games as it seems to now be effecting WoW unless I do what I say below.
So after some testing if my Router is to reset in the night or at any time without me knowing and then I DC while playing Overwatch the solution that I have currently found is the following in command prompt;
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
ipconfig/flushdns
Doing this is a bit annoying but tolerable hopefully after the 10 days the router will rarely reset so I guess I have to just bare with it.
EDIT: I will continue to test and make any changes on this thread as I feel may help others who have a Router that acts strangely with Overwatch.
Hello I’m Carey Jenkins and I’m a 4 season veteran of Over-watch and I have just been banned from the game from being kicked by Over-watch from the server more frequent of lately. I have been testing this for the last two weeks to make sure it wasn’t my internet which I paid for a full check up just Thursday and it has still occurred. Now i have been testing my other games and this only seems to occur on over-watch. Now i haven’t been getting two fustrated until the last 3 days. In which i invited my girlfriend over to play with on my internet and she had no problems at all no boots, no lags, nothing but I continue to get booted from Matches leading up to my ban from this season.
would you care to explain because I consider this to be completely unfair for someone who has loved this game since released and has invested countless hours to it to be subjected to this.

Hey Tiogaradh, so after some investigation it turns out my Router was faulty from the get go and after how I had to deal with Vodafone which was very bad customer service, I have a new Router coming soon and Provider taking over on the 13th August which is now BT.
But in the mean time the ipconfig I quoted from earlier does by me some time so I’d suggest anyone have any DC’s to try that atleast.
