Most people are against Overwatch being free to play because of all the trolls and throwers playing competitive with the normal players who are trying to climb, but what if QP, Arcade, and custom games are free to play, and people had to pay the normal $20 to play comp. This does many things:
- More players get into Overwatch because it’s free, so why not download and try it, meaning more OWL viewers, meaning more of that sweet moolah.
- Players get a chance to try out the game, and if they don’t like it, no problem, if they do like it, spend $20 to play comp like everyone else!
Obviously there are disadvantages to this, and this is just one idea, so what do you think about this whole free to play issue?
(Personally I’m in favor of not having Overwatch free to play, I’m just brining up ways it could POSSIBLY work)

Blizz do have the free-to-play weekends every now and then. That’s how I got into the game. Personally, I think that the occasional weekends of free trial are enough.

I which the free to play weekend where more regular it would be more effective if you could use it to introduce friends to overwatch and play together…
that would make it more likely that they would buy the game after all

I don’t see this as a negative. It might allow OW to reach more players, more money from loot boxes and such.
However, it might be insultive to those people who have paid full price and didn’t/don’t/never-wanted to play competitive.
IF you would see a statistic you would understand that so many people are playing QP . How to extract value from this players ?
On the other side - blizzard is doing so poorly right now so they either gonna ban 30 % of players or the game will die due to poor balance .
