Having exactly this issue, I’m from the UAE playing with my group from Japan but I get thrown alone in a game without my friends. No error message appears or anything, nor am I kicked out of the group, just being separated when the game start.
Also it seems I’m matched faster while my friends still see the search page. We don’t get matched together in the end either; in my separated game random people start joining the game as if I’m playing alone.
