Games not dead, if it has unreasonable queue times that means other people are playing.
if it gets cancelled due to afks, that means you got in a game with 12 others, meaning the games not dead.
you must be either tremendously stupid, or a troll account, which considering the 0 post amount, i’d say troll account

As Skynet has already pointed out, if you have afk players causing the game to get cancelled then you have other players in the game, meaning others aren’t playing it, meaning the games not dead.
Then consider your playtimes (and the time of year) and the role you’re queuing for - if it’s DPS then yeah you’ll get a long wait time, which isn’t a problem really considering you have:
- quickplay classic (no wait times)
- all the arcade modes
- DM / TDM
- skirmish
And you can play these literally whilst you wait
So congrats on proving yourself wrong in your own title, that’s a new one
If a game is dead it dosen’t mean it has 0 players.

Dead games are defined by:
- lower player count (OW has higher than 1000 players) - see here for blizzards count of how many active users they have

- is not receiving regular updates or content drops (blizzard has seasonal events running and characters coming out, lore books etc, as well as overhauls such as 222 role q.)
Whilst blizzard has slowed down such updates due to OW2, they still give updates, PTR balance patches etc.
Therefore, this is not a dead game.

If you want to look at a dead game look no further than Heroes of the Storm. Despite how lively its forums are the game is on life support and the devs cant give two hoots about it. Overwatch has not entered this stage yet.

Except it’s not, and is nowhere near dead. A bunch of DPS players on the EU forums claiming it’s dead with 0 proof and utter refusal to provide any should learn their opinions carry exactly 0 weight

Exactly, meaning no team play (which is what this game is designed around), no enjoyment, just 6 dps getting annoyed nobody switches for a proper team comp.
Meanwhile, in 222 rq, you have a team comp because by design, you have all 3 roles. Will there still be people throwing? Yes (because DPS players can’t seem to grasp basic fundamentals such as tanks and healers are needed and are not just free kills or ways to skip queues)
