Overwatch sensitivity increasing over time

I noticed that when I‘m playing the game for extended periods of time that the sensitivity I‘m using becomes faster over time. It‘s not only noticeable in the match but at the end of it in the victory/defeat/round complete screen too. Every completed round makes the sens go up (not visible in the settings).

When starting the game I can barely move my view in said victory/defeat/round complete screen even when moving my mouse from one side of the mouse pad (46cm) to the other. But when the problem gets worse I can easily do 360s with wrist movements. It’s also observable when doing 180s in game. I play a lot of tracer and know exactly how much I need to turn in order to do a 180 with her but the more the problem occurs the movement needs to be smaller.

So far I tried out different mice to see if that works but it didn’t do anything. I‘m using a Logitech g pro wireless right now.

Did anyone experience similar things?

Ideas why this could happen I’ve had so far:

  • Bug within Overwatch itself
  • Maybe other software interacting with Overwatch in a bad way? Thinking about Logitech or Corsair gaming software especially
  • Mouse acceleration being activated for some reason? (I know OW should use raw input)
  • Mouse polling rate increasing for some reason (should be at 1000Hz by default though)

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for contacting us with this problem.

First of all, please make sure you restart your PC and game before making any changes: many players simply lock their computer when away and full restart might resolve many minor issues.

Secondly, your suggestion to look into third-party software is a very sensible one, since overlays (but not only them) are often responsible for messing with game or its settings. Disable all obsolete apps and try again.

You might also consider resetting in-game settings for Overwatch - in Blizzard App go to Settings>Game Settings and use the relevant button in Overwatch section.
