Overwatch "teleport" function buggy

I’m sure everyone has encountered this at some point or another. When using Symmetra’s Teleporter, or Reaper’s Shadowstep onto a highground ledge, it can be very fickle in actually responding to where the user’s crosshair is. In scenarios when the abilities need to be used quickly, they can often place the teleporter on the low-ground below where the user’s crosshair is, despite the crosshair looking directly at the high-ground and thus wastes the ability usage. Either it should be repaired, or both abilities should have the option to cancel during the animation and return the ability without cooldown back to the player to get the right placement (although I would most certainly prefer if the placement issue was directly addressed rather than a work around cancellation feature).

In my opinion this is a bug that needs to be addressed for consistency. In some scenarios you can even have your “ghosted” icon showing it spawning on highground while you’re moving and as you left-click to place or teleport, the ghosted icon suddenly moves to the lower ground.

There’s no setback or negative impact of having these two abilities fixed…

I can’t remember it well since I don’t play him often but what seems most likely is that his range is in the form of a sphere instead of a cilinder. I could be wrong but that’s probably the reason why you find it so inconsistent.

Could also be terrible coding though.
