Overwatch won't launch. Every possible fix tried, This is a real issue right now please stop giving cookie-cutter advice

**“Sorry you cannot include links in your post”. I put spaces for my links to get around this. What a silly restriction :rofl:

My pastebin for msinfo and DxDiag. Keep in mind this snapshot isn’t representative of the full enviroment that I have tested, considering I have tried virtual machines and a whole other system (my partners), as well as re-installed various trouble software such as discord since giving up a few hours ago.

My partner and I both cannot load the game.

  1. The game tries to load, battle net says game loaded, a black screen appears, then quits.

  2. After validating files, the game tries to load, no black screen appears for 5 minutes or so, during this time battle net says the game is running. then a black screen appears and quits.

Restarting battle.net or my PC will restart from step 1.

Things we have both tried:

Old drivers.
Re-installing drivers
Re-installing DirectX
Re-installing battle net, Overwatch, Chipset drivers.
Booting in to a ‘fresh’ environment (no startup or running services except windows services).
I have no overclocking
Un-installing all the suspects (razer software, all USB peripheral drivers, Discord (overlay on and off and fully un-installed), and every other one you could possibly think of.
Loading PTR also has the same issue.
Issues started about 30-40 hours ago and have persisted since.

I’ve tried various powershell commands for validating files and the like as per various other threads on reddit and these forums.

I’ve tried so many other little things that it’s not worth typing them all out. Like deleting cache files, loading in to a damnable virtual machine even, to attempt a “re-install windows” environment. I can gaurantee if you can think of it, i’ve tried it.

My graphics card is 1080ti, My partners is 1060. I have an Intel CPU, she has AMD. Neither of us overclocked in any way.

I’m seeing a surge in people having this issue currently on Reddit. And like I said both my partner and myself having the issue on two separate PC enviroments at the EXACT same time is damning.

Hi.
Please create your DxDiag and MSInfo files.
You can paste the content of each file on a web like pastebin.com and provide us with the links.

Edited my post to include the information.

MsInfo is incomplete - Windows error reporting is missing. If you can, paste this fragment.
From what I noticed you have Steelseries software which in the past was the cause of problems.

Try uninstalling them. Additionally, use selective startup and disable all applications in the background.

I’m sorry if this comes across frustrated but if you read my post at all, I specifically asked to not give cookie cutter advice because.

  1. I already un-installed steelseries, razer, discord…all those infinitely repeated evil-doers.

  2. I already have booted in to a clean enviroment without any services or software but windows

  3. I have tried in a virtual machine with a fresh windows install except graphics drivers. No steelseries.

I think you didn’t read my post at all.

The windows error reporting bit, I followed the instructions in your link and deleted that because it was too large to fit in pastebin. Can I just paste that here in a reply? It’s very large (I alt-F4 a lot).

Unfortunately, I met many times that the players wrote that they uninstalled and then it was discovered that they did not remove anything. I work on the results from MsInfo in which the software is still available. Paste the missing part into pastebin and enter a new link.

Edited the first post to include the error reporting section of msinfo.

The problem is RzChromaSDK64.dll_unloaded. If you actually uninstalled everything from Razer, go to Windows\system32 and delete all files you find from Razer

***Chroma does not get un-installed when you un-install razers main software. It’s not even listed in the files for un-installing. Razer chroma has files in appdata and program files that need manual deletion.

Deleting the chroma folders worked for me, The below text is before I deleted the folders. Thank you for your help Raxr.

Now to see if I can use msinfo to do a similar fix on my partners PC, which has NEVER seen razer software in its life.

Un-installed razer again, Deleted every file starting with Rz in system 32 (there was 1). No change in the issue.

Restarted PC, Again no change.

a screenshot to show the file mentioned doesn’t exist.

I’m glad that I could help at least a little

Again, I will ask for the MsInfo report of the second computer.

this also happen to me as well i try most of the stuff about post like this.
but to day the ptr work but not the normal OW.

Hello, I’m getting a similar issue except the game isn’t crashing it just takes heaps long to start up the game, I have some dxdiag and msinfo files and a video of what its actually doing

In order not to mix topics I suggest that you set up your own topic in which to describe the problem again.

Well I got told to post it here by one of the bloody game masters!
