Overwatch World Cup Viewer Feedback - Add game start notifications

Hello there,

I had the chance to try out the Beta of the Overwatch World Cup Viewer Tool for 2 matches and I really fell in love with it. To be able to move to your own position or instantly roll back the action to see what actually happened when you missed something is so awesome. I can see this little tool to be really powerful.

But to me something is missing. And this is not to say that this is something awful, but to me it is a little tedious to watch the Stream on the OverwatchLeague Twitch Channel/Blizzcon Stream to see when a game is starting and to then switch into the client to watch the action live at your own pace and own control.

I would suggest some sort of announcement system that informs people that a new game has started. Something like:

  1. Desktop notifications while the client is running: Informing that a new match is starting. Clicking that announcement would at least start the Overwatch World Cup Viewer.
  2. If Desktop notifications are unwanted by the majority of the playerbase, you could at least try to implement some “ingame” announcement that broadcasts that a new E-Sports game has started.

Please share your thoughts, maybe this is not a problem to other people, but you asked for feedback to the tool so here is mine.

+1 perhaps if the devs feel its too out their, maybe just flash the icon yellow like when your tabbed out and a game starts, just do the same but for when a match goes live

Yea like any sort of notification would be great, the flashing yellow game bar in the task bar would be an idea aswell.

The viewer is pretty much the best thing to watch professinal overwatch so far. However i really would like to have the possibility to overlay the commentary of the twich commentators over the gameplay. Rightnow i do that by having the stream opened aswell, but syncing the game and the stream is quite a challange. Would be awesome to have the commentary or the comms of the teams available.
