OW2 Aim Assist feedback

okay it’s about time we talk about aim assist on console. I play on ps5 and if I have cross play enabled any form of aim assist if off.

this game is UNPLAYABLE without aim assist on console. no other game does this. I don’t understand the decision behind this?ceven if you play against other console players from xbox it’s still turned off??? the only way to have aim assist on is to play with ONLY PlayStation players/xbox players if you’re on xbox.

it needs to be enabled for cross play for this game to survive on console.

aim assist on console is not an “unfair advantage”. it is simply making the game playable.

EDIT: a lot of us have a console because its cheaper, or for whatever other reason. millions of people have overwatch on console, so please stop debating whether or not we should be playing on console, that’s not the point and it is off-thread.

Yeah. As a PC player, I don’t really get this move.

Even if it was an “unfair advantage” (I agree it isn’t, you already move many times slower on console), it is only quick play/arcade. It literally doesn’t matter.

I have found though, if you are on console and stack with 1 PC player, you can use KB&M natively and not need funky third party plug-ins.

I think it would be weird in comp. If you seen how bad some bronze players aim even with a mouse… I think aim assist on that would be a bit ridicolous.
Other than that i agree.

True. But it is quick play. Bronze player can stack with a GM and make the game just as mad.

They won’t be having cross play in ranked so I say just let them have it.

If a console player wants to play PC ranked, they should be allowed to, if they use KB&M. Basically ranked pools should be based on input method, not platform.

I’m sorry you must be in the wrong thread? this is about aim assist, not whether or not console is better?

i was talking about aiming on a console and aiming on a pc

And whilst I, and most others will agree with you… (as Apollo said), your reply wasn’t relevant.

The OP has edited his post to clarify that it wasn’t relevant too, and made some excellent points as to why console players should be cut more slack.

aim assits works for me on xbox one with cross-play enabled, weird. and yes it should be included in cross-play lobbies, because it’s a crutch to help even out the playing field. it’s not an aimbot because it’s so slow an inaccurate, but it helps when the only thing you can use to aim is your thumb

p.s. if someone thinks it can give you an edge over PC players they clearly haven’t played on a console in their lives, as anyone who gets really good at aiming just turns it off because it becomes annoying rather than helpful

That will be because you are in console lobbies.

The moment you have a PC player in your game, aim assist is turned off for everyone in that lobby. Even if it is 11 console players and 1 PC.

If defo doesn’t give you an advantage. You might have the game sense and everything, you just won’t be able to move the same.

Whats there to say, literally every single fps game on consoles need aim assist. Because you dont get the precise aim you have with mouse an keyboard.

Unless you want to have a match where literally everyone is firing at eachother for hours and missing all shots

Personally, I disagree.

What they NEED is just to allow mouse and keyboard as a native input method on consoles.

Aim assist is just a cheap compromise because they seem unwilling to do it.

I’m fine with that as long these keyboard and mouse players dont get mixed with people playing with controllers. That would give an extremely unfair advantage over controller players.

Mouse and keyboard for example is not really an option for my switch lite. And i’m not going to install this mess on my pc

The easy solution would be matching based on input, so you would only be in the pot with people like you. So on a Switch you would play with anyone on any platform, as long as they use a controller.

Thats aready the case, i am in a console group. But the nly difference is keyboard appearently not being allowed for consoles i guess?

Tho some people seem to type way to quick to be using the controller in these groups. So i think its atleast allowed for chatting already

Yeah. Right now people do just use it, but because you need a 3rd party tool to do it, they do class it as cheating. Not sure how many people, if any, get banned for it though.
