So with OW2 in its final days; Quick recap of what our community saw as the decline - supps are the new dps, matchmaking is horrible, new game modes suck, game has no soul and feels like a cheap cash grab, multiple accounts allowing smurfs and throwers etc etc etc).
Im curious to know what everyone is now downloading and playing which is of a similar genre? Same players over and over in games so i know the player base is now small regardless of what Blizzard stats say.
Im jumping into TF2 for now, but would like something a little more modern.
It’s not dead regardless of what you say or wish because you don’t play it anymore. But to answer your question, I play tft and baldursgate besides overwatch. Shooter? Overwatch. Just because there is no better Heroshooter than ow2.
Indeed regarding the latest comms detailing the new support hero. I called it out on Blizzards comms that they’re releasing an OP hero, rather than a balanced hero.
I’m unsure why they’re going against the idea of creating balanced heros - it’s either due to sheer incompetence (which is what we’ve seen throughout the life of OW1 and OW2 so far, or it is just a money grab, which given we were lied about the whole reasoning for going to OW2, it’s all too likely to be the case.
Ilari just got nerfed last thursday.
And 75 dmg per full charge bullet isn’t that much when you compare that to the damage that damage heroes do per bullet.
(Unless it’s a pulse or assault fire weapon, but in that case the quantity will quickly out do that)
She yells really loudly when she ults, giving you ample time to dodge behind cover or a shield. And the sun blast duration has been nerfed.
If you were full health when she ults you will live unless you get done 150 damage to (assuming you’re not a tank)
It’s more survivable than genji’s ult, or reaper’s ult if he sneaks up on you. Many others too like soldier, reinhardt, orisa believe it or not, mei and i’m sure others too.
Nah thats not true at all. overwatch is no longer the best hero shooter since ow 2 launched. The only reason im playing this is because i play on a switch lite when im not home, not many hero shooter options there.
But theres better ones out there on the pc for sure
The game is a mess. It’s so badly balanced that it’s just not really fun. Flashpoint is boring with only 2 maps. They still haen’t put all the maps from ow1 back in. What a sorry state of affairs for a once great game. It’s all so bland now. I just quit matches; people don’t know how to play the game and what is the incentive to learn when it’s just a grobby cash grab. Rewards mean nothing. The game doesn’t work 5v5 at all
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Blizz could have introduced battlepass, all the cosmetics they wanted, all the crazy prices for those cosmetics that they wanted to, a massive PVE campaign and co-op missions, new heroes, new maps, ALL of it, without changing this game from 6v6 to 5v5. It literally would have made no difference, if anything it would drive up more revenue because the more interaction between players obviously brings more interest and more sales. Changing the game to 5v5 has
not imnproved wait times, feel the exact same
has not improved mm at all, in fact feels worse now. Every other game I win a game where the entire enemy team has negative k/d and my whole team is positive and doing great. Something is not working and you can’t even type “gg” after something like that it’s just bad mm
decreased interaction and voice comms in teams
made the life of tanks worse. Idc if you’ve given zarya an extra bubble or some silly passives. You’ve ruined tanking, and for what? Nothing was gained
As conor says, I predict deez tings. Once player numbers drop enough and people complain enough, they will add 6v6 as an arcade mode. It’s actually sad when I think about how they’ve dragged this game down.
I haven’t cared about rank for a long time now. I only play because it reminds me of the masterpiece that was OW1. I onyl play openQ tank mostly and I still love playing along side Reins and other tanks. Trip tank and double heals is my favorite comp so far in OW2, but all in all, it pales in comparison to OW1.
We had something special, which didn’t need to be changed alongside the additions.
