Packet drops and lagg issues

Hello everyone ! Since month I’m having issues playing Overwatch packet drop is around 2-3% which makes game hard to play(sometimes game doesn’t play ulti sound for example) and lasts for 40% of the match time. I’m gonna say I’m quite tired of trying to fix this issue (tried everything but failed)because I really don’t know what’s the problem.
So Far:
-Reinstalled Windows 10, and installed only drivers(newest) then tried playing - no improvement

  • Changed my router (playing with RJ45 CAT6) from Next Gen Sonicwall to typical router without any security features
  • Closed all background apps
  • Not using VPN, proxy and PC is free from malware
  • No other devices connected to the internet ( no smartphones or laptops w/e with wifi) even while doing tests that are posted below.
I’m unable to do the test to the OW game server because server issues from Blizzard now I see.

Hello Soulu,

Your connection issue is related to three network nodes your ISP uses to reach the Overwatch servers and specifically:

  1. | 80.249.208.83 - 1 | 555 | 554 | 45 | 52 | 148 | 46 |

  2. | ae1-br02-eqam1.as57976.net - 1 | 553 | 548 | 54 | 62 | 360 | 60|

  3. | et-0-0-3-br02-eqpa4.as57976.net - 3 | 548 | 537 | 44 | 73 | 4500 | 46 |

You start loosing packets at the 7th hop node 80.249.208.83 with a worst ping of 148ms from the 40ms you had in the previous hop then the situation gets worse and you end up with 3% packet loss and a 4500ms worst ping. This is something only your ISP (Internet Service Provider) can sort so contact them and ask them what’s happening, if possible provide them the WinMTR file. They will need either to reroute your connection to our servers using a different node-path or speak with those nodes Network Admin.

Hello Losing 1 packet isn’t big deal. Problem starts at 8th hop and have bigger impact. As I see at “whois” this is APN that Blizzard owns. Btw problem only occurs in the evening when traffic is much higher than in the morning. Below MTR from 1 min ago.

EDIT : Ping in between source and destination DOES NOT MATTER. Only response time from the destination host matters.
