Consoles are able to opt out of crossplay, so why can’t PC?
The amount of players that are abusing crossplay while also utilizing XIM is absurd now, especially since the SA players (Who also bring other issues) started getting dumped into EU games, they seem to be the main (but not only) offender for this.
To people who say that it’s not nearly as big an issue as people make out, if that were the case then every single gaming company that has a competitive multiplayer FPS under its belt wouldn’t be trying to figure out a way to detect it.
It is literally a soft aimbot. It can also be configured to complete negate recoil.
That’s incorrect. You, yourself might not group with console players but another random PC teammate might have, which put you in the same random group. I have never grouped with a console player but I have been put in random QP matches that had a console player on my team many times. I can even give you a replay code of a recent match with an obvious controller player on my team.
I would love to opt out of crossplay games but not for the same reasons as the topic starter. Personally I don’t have a lot of issues in facing XIM’rs with aim assist as a PC player, it’s just that I do not like to have controller players on my team for obvious reasons.
I’ve never been in a match with anyone with a crossplay symbol.
At the time when crossplay was implemented it was said that the matchmaker would prefer putting the cross groups in with other cross groups primarily, and secondarily into crossplay enabled console games.
Only if there aren’t enough players in these two queues put together for a match, would it start looking into the pc queue.
Things could have changed, but primarily console players shouldn’t be put into pc lobbies.
People can use controllers on pc, but still be concidered pc players. Thus you can’t opt out of playing with them because overwatch doesn’t group based on input method, just platform. (They should though, if grouped based on input method then console players wouldn’t be playing against the ximmers)
Well let me present you this beauty https://imgur.com/oZlFJWX
Needless to say I wasn’t very pleased with this sight Though usually whenever I get console players it’s only one or two (I think at least).
Yeah but the thing is, let’s suppose you have 1 PC player grouped with 1 console player, how is the rest of the team filled? You need 5 people to make a team so occasionally I believe it picks some PC players to make a full team. OW mostly tries to match platform vs platform but I still see console players on either side regularly.
Yes that’s true, people using controller on PC is something I can’t avoid but those are few compared to console players.
I have a british friend, was at his place once, he was playing COD or something. What a crack head! He was better with the controller than I am with M+K.
