More of a rant post if anything.
Getting so pissed off with tanks queuing up, play heroes like rein and spamming left click as if you were a dps instead of utilizing your huge ass shield to protect our healers and dps.
People like this purely queue tank for a faster queue even if they suck at it, stick to dps id rather a long queue with close call games than a short queue to end up losing because you suck at tank and act like a dps.
Overwatch has been the first game on which I have not been top 10% worldwide and people like this are infuriating as it prevents me from ranking up where I should be due to poor teammates.
Carry potential is low enough as it is in this game as it is.
For those that need to know
CSGO: Legendary Eagle
Apex Legends: Diamond 1 peak
Overwatch: Silver, Silver, Silver.
Someone doesn’t understand tanking. Shame.

Ask yourself, why does Rein do this? They swing here n there, not only to get their ultimate up quicker, but to also damage opponents, which is not a bad thing, especially if the DPS aren’t the best. A bad Rein would charge into a group and swing swing swing, yes, but a good Rein knows the limits.
Shields don’t last forever, they get eaten quite quickly, and Reins are even getting a nerf. You can’t just stand with a shield protecting your team 24/7.
It’s true but the guy still has a point. Maybe he’s making the right point by accident though I’m not sure. There are many tanks out there that play like dps who have no idea what’s going on with their supports or dps.
Though it goes far beyond holding shield.
How’s the Rein going to shield his team when the shield is broken. Either hide exposing the team (Unless they hide too) or swing possibly killing / damaging opponents and avoid as much damage as possible until the shield is back.
only way to play tank is as DPS these days, hug terrain cover and never peek unless enemy’s are distracted, else get exploded in a microsecond into respawn mush
wanna blame someone? blame blizzard for making tanks less tanky than wet paper

Agree. Although I would blame them for not correcting DPS power creep more than weak tanks.

Understand a tank’s job before you go out of your way to rant about them. A tank’s job first and foremost, is to claim space for their team. They’re not meant to be shield-bots - If you NEED a Reinhardt’s shield to survive, it simply means your positioning is awful.
It’s easy enough to find GM or OWL footage of Reinhardt players. Look up some of the best players on ladder and tell me if they just stand around shielding their team 24/7. Spoiler: They don’t.

You do realise Legendary Eagle is nowhere close top 10% right? Neither is Diamond in Apex. It’s so easy to get Predator nowadays, old Preds might be classified as good players, but new ones surely not.
As for CS there’s Faceit, Globals in Faceit are like lvl 5 (and there are 10 levels).
So I have to call out that top 10% as a lie good sire.
i think everyone has said enough to make their point.
but as a mostly tank player it’s actually better to have an overly aggressive one than overly passive one.
and really tank is a lot harder than some people think.
for example with the positioning and such, the other roles just have to play around it and not necessarily create the setup.
but really if you wanna be top 10% it’s a lot easier to just go tank because you have a lot less competition to get there, and it’s just that “easy” so it shouldn’t be a problem too.
so what am i saying? don’t complain about a role you don’t play that’s so miserably underplayed that the game is basically dying for it.
if you can do so much better then show it.
tanks is where it’s at.
Sometimes when I’m at 100 charge with Zarya, I get a bit DPSy

i think that goes for everybody, when you hear the buzzing of that beam you kinda lose yourself.
takes some practice to not over commit with zarya, i think really that’s the hardest part of playing her.
but a quick tip that i usually try to remember when i play her is to stay at pretty much max distance off the beam range as it tends to be a lot easier to track enemies when you do that and it also makes me play a lot safer and stop over commiting as much due to it.
