So here is my problem. Until now i played all the time via my headset which is set as default sound device anyways so no problem there. Now i wanted to put my default device on windows on my speakers so my girlfriend could watch some videos and movies while iam playing so i tried putting the playback device ingame to my headphones. But it seems like i cant hear anything ingame on any setting besides default. Even if i select the device which is set to default at that moment it wont work. Any solutions so i can hear the game via headset while using my Speakers as the windows default ?

you can try with this video, it’s old and idk if it’ll work, if don’t, try some other similar YT suggested videos on the subject.

Iam playing on WIn 10 pro right now so that probably is part of the problem why most solutions like your suggested ones dont really seem to work . Idk why but win 10 pro made some usually easy to access settings way harder to use just like this i cant get anything to appear in recording which isnt already there even if i show like every hiden or not connected device

I understand your problem, didn’t know it was Win 10 in question.

Try with this one:

  1. Connect your speakers and heaphones each to your computer.
  2. Right click on Volume Mixer icon in bottom right of Windows and select “Sounds” from menu.
  3. Open “Playback” tab and right click on your speakers from list and select “Set as Default Device” from menu.
  4. Open “Recording” tab and right click on “Stereo Mix” from list and select “Enable” from menu.
  5. In the same tab, right click on “Stereo Mix” from list and select “Properties” from menu.
  6. In the new window, open “Listen” tab and check the box next to “Listen to this device”, then select your headphones from the drop-down list below and click the “Apply” box to the bottom right.

You should now have system sound through your speakers and your headphones without picking up your mic.

The main problem is that it wont even wants to show me the stereo mix option. I cant just show it if i right click on blank space or anything like this. Idk why

I did find this answer from Microsoft agent, read it in the link. It seems you’ll have to install driver for sound card because right now it’s running an Windows driver.

If you’re not sure what sound card you have installed, you can download a tiny software called Unknown Devices, it’ll show you what manufacturer made the card.
