was playing today and when players started switch characters the model wouldnt show and was only shown as a red orb or a blue orb if they where team mates. any way to prevent it or is it server issues?

It may just be your computer still loading assets if it’s your first match after starting the game. I sometimes have glowy orbs with guns zooming around on the floor but it’s only the first match after starting the game.
If it happens randomly, i have no idea.
Try re-installing the game and clear some non essential files from your main harddrive.
If that doesn’t help someone smarter needs to answer.
Are you perhaps running the game on a hard drive? Because it sounds like a loading issue I used to have in OW1 before I got an SSD.

My answer is yes,theres something loading behind your back page.i had those too today & figured out my steam launcher are doing auto loading other games.i turned it off & things are back to normal ":))
I’m currently battling this issue for a few weeks. Has anyone found a fix? I run a nvme drive as well with a 3080. So far I’ve tried reinstalling the game and GPU drivers but nothing seems to work. I’m also losing sound, as if my character is under water. Enemy team is a shiny red orb and team members are a blue orb.

having this issue right now. 3070 gtx and ssd obviously. Literally unplayable if I can only see the orbs of everyone…
Ive been having this problem as well on both nvme ssd and hard drive
both on battle.net and steam
im convinced its some cpu issue personally and it happens in the middle of the match after a round, if someone switches characters. its almost as if the game is trying to make a loading call but isnt. the bug fixes if i leave and rejoin
its been happening since the beginning of ow2. If someone knows of a way to force the game to reload in the middle of the match that would fix it.
Anyone fixed this bug? I can’t play it anymore if I try to play and the game just don’t load the heros. When I quit the game because I just see orbs, the game punish me with 2+ hours with no possible game. So, is a BG for me and /quit? I never saw blizzard trying to help this type of bug too.
Is your computer updated and such? Could be a graphics issue?
