This happens A LOT. It starts of with one but ends up with three players leaving. I am really tired of this problem. It only causes de-ranking and frustrated players. I don’t understand how two even three players can leave without a game cancel. This is really frustrating and just not fun. Not only for me, but for the other players as well.
hmmm… wonder if the hotter ambient temperature may be over heating computers…
a) esports rigs if done right will be geared towards cranking up the frame rate which will mean more heat…
b) its summer so its only going to get hotter
C) for some insane reason computer case designers are getting to fancy with the front panels preferring to make them look cool as opposed to having good ventilation…
I would love to see statistics on how many people leaving are crashes and how those differ in summer vs winter.
Not saying this is it… but I’ve had issues to the point where i am looking at case modding my secondary gaming rig for better stability.
I agree. I’ve had 3 crashes up till now. I ended up with a 2 hour suspention. But it would be a really big coincidence when losing a game. Today i was losing a game and POOF 3 people disappeared and the other two started trolling with the enemie team. Great game. Lost some good mood and ranking points.
at least temperature based stability issues is something one can address oneself to some extent… i really hope this is not an overly hot summer X3
adding in two 140mm fans i had left over and doing a custom mounting solution
Not sure what blizzard can do about leavers other then screw with their SR… but if they wanna smurf that may play into it… i guess if they leave often enough they get suspended too…
Hopefully trash like that get cleaned away
Anyway be cool this summer folks… dont BBQ your CPU X3
There must be a way to recognize the conditions of someone leaving on purpose vs having a crash. There must be an error code, a time out error or something for the game to understand when leaving on purpose - therefore to impose a penalty - or having a crash and it’s not intentional.
The last week I played competitive once,
and I was immediately reminded again why I never play it.
In most games I feel myself being held hostage,
so I fully understand people leaving this crap .
the problem is that as soon as they start chec+king for crashes people will leave by crashing their computer on purpose to not loose SR…
it’s a pity but that is human nature…
for example i baught a cheapo china gaming mouse on aliexpress way bac+k that BSODs my computer by throwing an IRQ error (which is wierd because mice typically are super compatible) so if i wanted to cheat and they did not penalize crashes then i could just plug that in if the game was going badly and crash my computer and start again without any SR loss…
and there are lots of other ways people could trigger a crash… hopefully without screwing up their computer but frankly i don’t think cheaters think that far anyway…
Also don’t by cheapo-china mice X3 (it works ok in linux though)
of course people leave competetive, its not “competetive” lmao
3 reason competetive is trash
- Smurfs
- Hackers
- Overtime
Overtime adds a large part of the enjoyment to the game i don’t really see any way removing it makes the game better…
After all both sides get to enjoy that little advantage… without it games would get boring and predictable and people would just start leaving a lot more because there was no hope…
its actually kind of a brilliant mechanic for ensuring people stay to finish the game…
this actually says the community are a bunch of weak ass pussies that can’t handle a opponent of higher skill.
Besides that its a competition, it is meant to be at your best it’s meant but people become crybabies once you manage to hit your target 2 times in a row and suddenly you are a smurf.
That stuff is a old as TF2, if you dont like that go play freddie fish smh.
is synonymous to people that can aim these days, competitive isn’t trash the community is trash.
people often attribute their own success to skill and other people successes to malign factors… the brain is basically built to be egocentric… it’s a well known cognitive bias so yes
smurfs are most likely just normal players that play better at that time… they will probably play worse later… getting good is basically about having more good play sessions then bad…
hack do happen but i think throw the word around when ever they encounter someone with good aim too… unless you have obviously anomalous potg or kill cam footage to back up the claim that seams unlikely… with replays added i think we’ll get a lot better evidence for or against hackers now…
So that will be interesting…
hopefully actual hackers will become more scares too… or it may just be that people actually examine the replay footage and change their opinion on what they though was a hacker X3
Maybe stop locking in heroes your team doesn’t need imbalancing the match in favor of the opposing team. That might help.
This has been happening since I started playing back in season 5, and I doubt it will ever stop.
- people will get upset and throw
- people will have internet problems and get disconnected and won’t bother coming back because of the 50sr penalty they get anyway
- smurf accounts who don’t care about winning or losing
The last time someone threw in a comp game was in a game recently where our Widow wasn’t doing great and died to the enemy Widow 3 times in a row. I wrote in chat “Widow can you switch? You’ve died to the other widow a few times”. And right after I wrote that, our Widow left the game and we had to play the rest of the game 5v6.
No insults, no toxicity, just a simple request to play another hero can result in people completely giving up and getting their feelings hurt.
I’m a Zarya main (used to be a one trick) and even i will switch off Zarya if I’m having a bad game. the concept of throwing or leaving never enters my mind.
