Personal opinion of course but please don’t merge the 2 games, I’ve moaned and complained about the state of Overwatch for years but have always played almost daily but with OW2 beta I can’t bring myself to play it, I hate the style of it. It feels like Splitgate.
OW2 feels like a generic shooter; halo, cod, valorant, splitgate etc.
Supports are horrible to play
Maps are far too open and cluttered.
OW2 beta is a BIG NO from me

I love the new changes, support needs some love though. But overall I have had more fun compared to season 17 and onwards.

Agree, Loved Orisa and Doomfist and hate OW2. Its just nasty to change peoplea heroes i am surprised there is not more uproar about it. Doom should remain as a damage hero who decided he should be a tank should step back from decision making.
You will need to create a few new heroes for OW2, So create a brother for Doomfist who is a tank? This way you dont ruin my hero and enjoyment.

I know OW2 wanted to provide players more agency. Do you think OW2 succeeded in that?
All of this is so important
There’s simply way too much change to wipe out the original game
I’d rather the community were split than force this loss of identity on a game which nobody asked for - most of the community just wanted updates and changes and content not a whole new package that thanos snaps everything we know out the window

If they both exist the community can decide and play both. I prefer this option but will they allow us to reject thier pet project?
Never going to happen as it is a bad idea.
You might find some 6v6 modes in workshop but that will be it. They have said in the past having 2 balance patches would be too much of a drain on their resources to keep up (when people asked for a vanilla OW in the past).

It’s a fantastic idea.
Just leave OW1 as it is. No need for balance patches.

Here here, much agreed. Keep them separate.

Yep keep OW and OW2 separate.
The current OW is good as it is, although uncared for and poorly managed in areas. The fact we paid good money for OW to then have it taken away from is would be an odd decision, especially as they’re still retailing the game, so I doubt they will be splitting it, I haven’t seen any notices coming up to say it’ll no longer be what it is .
OW2 is going away from the original OW and as said above, feels like a Splitgate.
