aim acceleration, sometimes called ramp-up time, are the training wheels of the shooter genre on controller.
designed to make sure people who can’t really use an analog stick will still have “smooth” aiming.
in the hands of an experienced player however these training wheels, aka. Aim Acceleration, will hinder precision and agility, very much like real training wheels.
Aim Acceleration makes aiming feel imprecise and unpredictable. instead of being able to quickly snap aim to the side I have to wait a bit for my turn speed to ramp up which also limits rhe skill ceiling of the stick aiming.
so basically, STOP DOING THIS and if you must, let us turn it off!
