Please stop abusing report system

I won’t keep on asking Blizzard to release information they aren’t allowed to release, could result in me getting banned from the ticketing system.

And this by itself is already enough information for me to work with.
Sure they get dozens of reports, they have previously mentioned they would implement machine learning systems though no update from that since 2 years.

I’m still going by the idea of them manually checking reports.

Haha. They have no way of doing that, so you are ok. They can stop you playing the game, and stop you posting on forums. That is it (unless you just buy a new account and start again…).

Dozens? They get thousands and thousands a day (sadly people are soft and report for everything).

You can live in your idyllic world. But the truth is something much more logical and disappointing.

I don’t need to go further to get to a logical understanding of everything.

All i require is a certain set of rules and information i’m given and i can work with that, don’t need anything more. It’s the easiest and the best way for me.

Ok.

But if you deny facts you will constantly be misled and manipulated.

Goodbye champ. Time to get some sun, I suggest you do the same.

You’re lucky I can’t find the chat transcript I had with a GM who blatantly stated “it would be foolish for anyone to believe that the system isn’t automated, there is simply not enough manpower to check everything manually”.

Remember this post of mine? If you get offended by the word "noob" get of the internet - #11 by anon50486351
I’ll keep looking to find it so I can trash you again but I’m afraid I’ve misplaced/deleted the file.

I think every player of this game who can think with basic logic knows it is automated.

They just say it isn’t to give people hope.

One report has no consequences, you are not getting banned through false reports.

According to what I’ve read you do. I was muted before but then I thought that maybe I did say something offensive (I can’t recall too well). Then last week I used chat twice and I said “Hi, lol!” two times in two games and I got multiple reports again. I suggest you buy several accounts in case one gets banned that’s all. All this toxic players thing in totally made up. This community is no different from any other I met and it’s definitely not more offensive or rude than before. Been playing WOW for 15 years and I never got a warning or suspension. I also used chat option heavily there.

I suggest you buy several accounts in case one gets banned that’s all.

There’s no way you don’t work for Blizzard…

I’m occasionally a little rough to people via chat but I’ve never been banned or muted, because I’m not a constant offender. You have to go out of your way to get someone to report you, and I guess some people just can’t resist.

Well all this in game toxicity stuff is ridiculous. There is no way OW players are more offensive than any other players I’ve met. I played OW for 1.5 and I don’t see it to be the case. Can they ban you for being reported - yes they can. I am getting Blizzard warnings every other day! Do I do anything special in this game I wouldn’t do in a polite company? No I don’t.
I never used report system in any game in my life. I think you should only report things like cheats and I don’t know - terrorists using in game chat to plan an attack maybe.

Things you are forgetting casual racism, homophobia, death threats, suicide requests and the list goes on…

Lots of things need reporting.

But many things that get reported really don’t need to be

If you think any of that is acceptable as just “chat inside a game” then you are part the problem.

Abusing someone. Whatever the time, place or reason is unacceptable.

I never said that I think that or personally did any of the above. It is nevertheless just a chat. If a 9yo tells me to kill myself it doesn’t mean I am going to and I don’t know anyone who would. Same goes for the same kid telling he is going to hurt me from half way of the world and it’s not like Blizzard can protect me from them by giving a warning. We should not blow this out of proportion.
PS: I never experiences any of that online. Neither in WOW nor in OW. Some angry insults yes, but nothing worthy of overreaction.

No. But he should be banned and taken out of the game.

Like you, I wouldn’t effect me (other than being disappointed in the terrible parenting). I just report and move on.

But all it takes is for him to say it to the wrong person at the wrong time and thing can be a hell of a lot different.

It is simple

  1. Don’t be a dick.
  2. Have manners
  3. And if you don’t like your team say nothing and leave at the end.

Not a difficult set of things to do.

But merely claiming it is just chay because it doesn’t offend or upset you is a very insular. We should ve a community, that plays a team game together and force that kind of thing out. But sadly it’ll never happen because too many just accept it as part of the game now.

Being a dick to people has never been acceptable.

I can only say for myself, but if they are going to ban people for throwing little taunt I am going to be bored of this game very soon. It’s not fun if the other team just silent all the time. Makes no difference from playing with bots or just a single player.
People seem to find new ways to be offended daily. Every other game I play I hear “reported” with 99% of the time it’s unclear who is reporting whom and for what.

Again. Being racist and other abuse is not a little taunt and has always been offensive. People are just now getting upset because others are sick of their s**t and telling them to shut up.

Laughing at someone for missing shots, or falling off the map is fine.

But you be abusive, you get what you deserve.

Passing it off as banter is not an excuse.

None is speaking about being a racist. Now they have invented something seriously outrageous as being toxic. You want the right definition in any dictionary though but they feel okay to give kids the power to decide whether you are that. Once again abuse needs a clear legal definition. Suggestions like “be nice” doesn’t cut it. I am not on a date. How about be appropriate I am all in for that.
You think laughing at someone for falling of is fine but I am getting reported for that too. Like I say virtually everything is offensive to somebody.

I have. And you passed it off as just chat.

It doesn’t need to be rude or offensive to fall under blizzards abusive chat rules. If anyone thinks you’re being a bit of a knob about something, they have every right to report you.

Unless you consistantly be a knob, you won’t get actioned, so no worries.

Tip is, don’t be a knob. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing.

You choose to be a knob, then you get what you deserve.

Just be respectful to others. Easy.
