Ok so, originally I heard about this topic on the Unit Lost Channel. But, I’d like to place my thoughts too.
In my opinion widow doesn’t need to be nerfed in anyway. She is an entirely skill based hero, meaning that if you can’t win with her, then she’s useless to your team. I can, however, see the reasons why people are saying she needs to be nerfed. In the higher tiers, skilled widow mains are a very big threat to the enemy team because she is able to one shot 200 health heroes and below with her headshot. However, most of those 200 health heroes have small head hitboxes, meaning the widow would have to be an aimbot or have super human accuracy. And to those who think widow still needs a nerf, to counter her switch to D.va, Winston or maybe even Reaper.

She needs a nerf. If mercy 1 shot instant reviving once every 8 seconds was OP, then widow 1 shot killing people much more often is much more OP.
She needs more teamplay, she needs to work with her team.

If a Reaper went on a flank and caught the Widow off guard up close, he could be a possible counter. But, that likely wouldn’t happen if you had a headset on because his footsteps are so loud.
UL is a joke to be honest.

Only hero that needs nerfs right now is Hanzo, and he needs nerfing hard.

120 dmg for a body shot I feel is too high and the reason is they are very easy to pull of in this game.

you say she’s and entirely skill based hero but they continue to nerf skill based heroes, tracer genji. shes next. i just don’t think oneshots belong in the game. she can wipe a whole team with one clip soldier can’t even do that with his ult. her primary fire is better than a lot of ultimates.

If you’re playing against a Widow that ever wipes a whole team in one clip, you need to recommend them to the OWL. Because I doubt if that’s ever happened in the history of the game (it would also take significantly longer than those ults you compare them to in any case).
Further, her ult and her Venom Mine aren’t exactly the most powerful abilities in the game, so as a package you’re not really looking at a lot more than her rifle, and only then while scoped.
In addition to this, most of the cast can deliver a combo of abilities that are themselves for all intents and purposes one-shot mechanics due to the speed of execution.

a widow main how did i know.
widow doesn’t even need a team wipe to win fights she gets two picks on the supports fight over, whereas with tracer or genji to do that with an ult is like a big play. genji’s ult does nearly 3 times less dmg than a widow headshot and tracers pulse is the same as one but takes time to build. even bastion ult only does 200 per shot. i think there needs to be a oneshot stopping mechanic were you will be left on like 5 hp. both widow and hanzo need headshot dmg nerf of some sort.
Agree. 1 shots feel horrible when you’re hit by one and a dead support destroys the chances of a team before a fight even really starts.
1 shotting ults are all very loudly announced seconds before damage is possible and can be countered by other ults to try and stop them having effect.
