After years of playing overwatch i feel completely screwed over, i now can’t play my favourite game because of how my phone plan works. I have a pre-paid phone plan so i now cannot access the game at all and it doesn’t seem like blizzard will be changing that soon. I understand that this has been put in place to battle toxicity and cheating but surely there must be a better way of preventing these things rather than excluding a large group of people who genuinely want to play and enjoy this new game we’ve all been looking forward to.

I see this reasoning on the regular for the SMS thing, but even with the original Overwatch it cost more to buy the game than it did to get a new SIM.
Now that it’s free, it’s even cheaper for people with unlocked phones to buy SIM cards for £5 and use it to create a new account.
As for your issue, is there any way you could get an out-dated phone with a SIM in it and use it just to log into OW2? Any old phones you’ve got laying around or you could get one from Amazon for less than £20.
That’s not the point. We shouldn’t need a phone number with a valid plan to play a video game

You can’t use prepaid phone numbers? I’m guessing probably because you can get new numbers for 5-10 quid.
What other alternatives can you guys think of? Email won’t work.
