Pricing, cosmetics and recolors

I really enjoy the game. But I feel the financial policies and practices that overwatch has implemented has left a very bitter aftertaste for consumers. The past two seasons in particular have been filled with recolors - in battle passes and in shop bundles forced in with new cosmetics to inflate bundle pricing. Even collabs aren’t safe from recolors - and are released at extortionate pricing. The infamous mythic aspect recolors, at 10-15 bucks apiece. Reused POTG cinematics, like the Chinese new year Lucio POTG.

Its absolutely ridiculous how much low-effort slop is pushed out time and time again with premium price tags. Mythic skins which people have paid and grinded for for an entire season now have paid recolors. Pricing is horrible compared to other f2p games in the market. You really need to fix and address this going forward.

Mythic aspects should have been free for skin owners and it is a mind boggling decision to sell them and at such a premium price at that. These practices are so anti-consumer the game feels predatory and I am slowly but surely falling out of love with it.

Only really with the vocal minority,.

Most people just see the prices, and if they think it is too much, they just don’t buy it and carry on.

That being said, I am not sure what the prices are like compared to other games. Seems like they are about the market rate.

First thing I found with a quick google search is this on reddit…

Seems like the prices are about the same as Apex and (unsurprisingly) Warzone/CoD. Cheaper than Valorant and about the same as Halo too.
