I just finished playing an Overwatch competitive match where one enemy player thought I was “cheating” therefor he called me out in general chat and forced a draw because some players from my team agreed to it, and I have no clue what to do in this case since my game experience was ruined simply because I was playing well that match. I would like Blizzard to address this issue and that it is not for players to decide and force a draw simply because one or two players think a person is cheating based on the mere fact that they are playing on a low level account and are high ranked, and if the player doesn’t have enough reputation he will have his game ruined with no way to defend himself. It is for Blizzard to decide who is cheating and it is for them to punish the cheaters. Players are not to draw a match because they think one is cheating, and there should be a way to punish them if they attempt to do so by a game report option provided to the victim.
For those interested in my case, this was my match: 5EZK0T
The player Tairex was the one who forced the draw after I eliminated him in 2:15
Erm. I think this is a perfectly fine thing to do if everyone is suspicious of cheating.
In fact it should be encouraged. If you are not cheating, worst thing that happens is you waste a little time.
You can only force a draw if 10/11 people agree to it… so if you are innocent it is best to just suck it up, and move on.
You’re wrong in many things here, let me explain.
First of all, if one person decides to draw in the accused team, then the draw will happen. (The genji player in my team was as frustrated as me that his match was wasted)
Secondly, it happens way more often than you think in GM+ nowadays since the cheating scene is rising. Some games will be justly drawn, but I assure you some are drawn merely because a bronze-border dps player is playing well.
Take the aimbottz situation that happened awhile back as an example, he was acknowledged just because he has reputation on his main account, other than that, his game on his alternative account was completely ruined when he was playing extremely well.
And you saying “best to suck it up and move on” is the most unacceptable thing you could say. Imagine if a thrower sabotages a game you were winning and you’re not able to report him, do you just “suck it up and move on”?
Just as throwers get punished, those who force a draw on an innocent players are to be punished, it can’t get more logical than that.
It is not for players to punish players, it is and only is for Blizzard to do punishments.
If it displeases you so much. Stop playing.
No one makes you play.
one player can’t make a draw happen. Unless he get incredibly lucky. The enemy would have to hard throw if I decided I wanted to draw (for example).
Who are you to tell me to stop playing? I’m addressing an issue to Blizzard that happens in high elo games, so maybe you should stick to the “smurfs ruin games” threads instead?
You have no clue what you’re talking about, I’ve experienced the issue and addressed it clearly, so please, don’t flood my thread with pointless replies.
Smurfs do ruin games. But again, nothing anyone can do about that.
Just like, for example… If my Rein decided he wants to spend the game charging off the map… I can report, avoid. But nothing I can do to stop him. Just got to let him get on with it and try make the best of the situation.
If people are constantly accusing you of cheating, then either stop cheating (lol)… or just mute them and move on.
If you are doing nothing wrong, nothing will happen so whats the issue.
i think the bigger question here is how are you a bronze boarder, being a masters level DPS player but a plat level tank and healer… this is mighty suspicious in my eyes
im not accusing you, but you can see how it looks from an outside perspective
Haha. I didn’t want to point that out. Sometimes people just suck on tank in comparison to their DPS ability.
Or they keep playing hog…
I don’t play tank & support seriously, I could raise their SR today if that proves anything to you, despite the fact that cheats enable all kinds of heroes whether it’s Mercy or Winston. However if you suspect me, the replay code is there in the thread, I posted it for a reason sight …
So you try to win on DPS… but throw on Tank or Support?
Interesting.
(any time I say I am playing “for fun” people blindly accuse me of throwing… so must be true)
True, but to that degree?.. i must admit ive never met someone with that much of a discrepancy
if he were diamond tank and healer, and masters DPS then maybe…
or if he were diamond DPS and gold tank/healer sure… (because there is a massive difference between diamond/masters than gold/diamond
as we both know there is much more to this game than clicking heads…
seeing as he is a mcree main in ranked… i am not surprised he is being accused with that level of discrepancy between his ranks… and being a bronze border without even a single prestige lvl

100%
And there is nothing wrong with being suspicious. Especially when a profile makes it look like something odd is going on.

i mean at this point even being “unranked” in tank/healer and being masters DPS would be less suspicious…
So very true.
I am all for “playing for fun”… It is only a video game after all.
But if people accuse me of throwing if I say that… I will just do the same, because apparently that is acceptable lol.
As I’ve stated before, I barely take Support & Tank seriously, I find them boring and only play them with friends. And I assure you those two roles are easier to rank up with “cheats” than DPS. If I wasn’t confident I could simply use the private profile function, but I couldn’t care less what people think. I’ve stated everything I need to say, provided the game where I was accused, and would kindly prefer players who have experience in the subject replying to the thread.
So you have deranked roles to play with friends?
Technically that is cheating btw…

Look dude, im not accusing you, i am playing devils advocate and trying to show you the “Other side”
im sorry if your feelings are hurt, but a profile like yours absolutely REEKS of either “smurf” or “Cheater”… im not saying you are, but because of the state of the game and how many smurfs and cheaters there are in it… you are doing yourself a disservice by “Not taking tank/healer” seriously…
you’re not going to change other peoples minds… and in a system of 12 people if the other 11 think you are cheating you are eating 11 reports, and will most likely get banned, and blizzard will not lift a finger to help you…
my suggestion? rank up your tank/healer stats to match with your DPS one, this will lower suspicion… but at the end of the day, this game is trash and its community is one of the worst in the world of games… (and i play rust, a game designed to be toxic)
there is nothing you can do about it, blizzard won’t listen and the community won’t either
in a rare twist of fate i suppose it is poetic to tell you to “Dont Git Gud” because being “Gud” is causing you problems x-D
I respect your opinion, and don’t blame anyone who suspects me, especially that we’re on a time where the game is rising with cheaters. All I’m suggesting is for Blizzard to look into that small portion of innocent players who had their games drawn unjustly, and don’t have a voice. doesn’t have to be my case. That’s all I’m suggesting, nothing more nothing less.
So true on the Blizzard not giving a monkeys.
I got banned and when I appealed I found out it was because people reported me for saying that Mercy was a garbage hero… hahaha
