“Its just Quick Play,” a player says as he chooses a 4th dps.
This needs to stop.
2 Years have gone by and people still can’t learn to play something acceptable for the team? Or at least anything that can help?
Quick Play isn’t a practice range. That’s what the Practice Range is for.
People say its “false reporting” for reporting someone in Quick Play, but i really can’t see why that is so. If someone is sabotaging the game by picking a character, any character at all, and not pulling their weight for the team, i should have every right to report them for Gameplay Sabotage.
I know there are DPS One-Tricks and Mains out there, i know people don’t like to switch to other heroes at all, but no matter what people do, i have ONE mere question.
Please Do Better.
It’s fine to play what you want, just get kills, heal, whatever your character does, just do well and we won’t have a problem.
I’m not asking that people stop playing only DPS, i’m asking that people can just do better. And if they aren’t, switch if necessary.
Because nobody likes to get steamrolled simply because someone wasn’t pulling their weight.
So if you wanna play 6DPS, Triple anything, 2/2/2, i don’t care, choose what you want, JUST DO BETTER and switch if you aren’t doing better.
So go ahead and play whatever you want. I better see you on the left side of the kill-feed or get a gold medal.

If you are one of these people that uses the “It’s Just Quick play” line has an excuse to play DPS in every match, pick widow when we already have Hanzo, and so on behaviors. Let me ask you something, whats wrong with you honestly? Because there has to be something.
Do you really believe if I go Competitive I’m gonna get better matches? That I’m not gonna have the exact same problems and have just as many teammates like you giving even worse excuses or just not even bothering to justify themselves?
After 8 seasons getting annoyed and frustrated, even tho I climbed it wasn’t worth my time now that I think about it, and now I only do quick play, because there’s absolutely no reason to play competitive.
It’s sad that Blizzard doesn’t do anything to even reward or force flexing, doesn’t even try to fix the bad comps problem that screws up games every day for everyone.
Just remember that I didn’t open this game to be Flexing all time, everyone deserves to have good games and play what they like a bit. You might only care about playing the hero you like, and unfortunately, Blizzard will allow you to do that, but that’s not the point of the game, and having that mentality will bring frustration to actually real players that wanna have real Overwatch games.
Are you one of these tryhard “commando” bossing around in QP?
People play quickplay for many different reasons. You can’t force players to play the way you want so you are satisfied. If they cooperate, good for you. If they don’t then you can’t do anything about it. (unless they do sabotage the gameplay)
If you insist to play more seriously, find some friends to play in a group and have a good time with them.
I instalock Brigitte every game and nobody can stop me! (Granted that is still a better choice than 90% of QP picks.)
The point of quick play is to have fun without thinking of anything or anyone else (while being reasonable and respectfull), if you are making your self doing something that you don’t like (for example swiching hero in order to be more effective or sacrifice your joy in order to win) then you have a problem for sure.
I bet you are one of those quick play pharmercys, sombras, and junkrats who actually destroy the experience for everyone else.
I can understand that it is really annoying when you lose because of an terrible team-comp (5 DPS, No Tanks, No Healer, 2 Snipers ETC.) but the phrase “Its just QP” is right. Its an unranked mode where you can train Heroes or just play to have fun. No one can force you to pick what they want and it is good that way. If Blizzard would implement forced flex for everyone then QP would be an horrible experience. No one would play for fun anymore and thats what Videogames are about in the first place. The only place to Tryhard is Ranked and no one is going to bother you if you do it there. If you do have a problem with that and you only play QP to Tryhard then you should consider taking a break from the game. I was at this point aswell and after a few weeks of playing something else i can now enjoy the game much more.
I don’t even understand why you make such a post when your most played heroes are Genji and HANZO. If you want a good team composition queue with some friends, if you don’t have any friends play competitive ( to get better team composition) . Everyone is entitled to play what ever they want especially in QP , that is what it was made for. And nobody owes you anything.
Quickplay is quickplay and competitive is competitive. Why would you try to play Quickplay as if it were comp? Wouldn’t that just turn quickplay into comp? If you want flex and all that jazz you should just play Competitive. I don’t ever really play quickplay just comp which is why I haven 4 gold guns.
How come you cant man up and go play competitive if you are a tryhard?
Why cant you have serious play in qp?.. if you want to fool around, play arcade…
QP is meant to be like comp but without the more serious element of ranks and SR… If you want to play seriously but is not up for comp, or maybe you have bad internet and get DC’ed all the time, where do you go?.. If you go to comp, you end up ruining comp, by not playing your absolute best, or even worse get a DC and make your team lose…
Well QP or not you will have no impact on the game if your team has no healer and even to some degree no tank when the other team does. I always swap a healer atleast to increase my change of winning. QP or not i play to win, if i want too goof around i play custom games.
Anyway unless they are a masochist I can’t understand what is fun in only getting killed in the game and not even capping the first point. Overwatch is just not about training heroes it is more about game sense and training the game itself, knowing what to swap and when.
I don’t have a problem with people trying hard in Quick play. But at the same time those try hards can’t start spitting out their dummies if others don’t want to play as seriously as them.
And the claim of “QP is meant to be like comp without SR” has just been made up by comp players. It has NEVER been stated that QP has been anything other than a casual mode.
Don’t mention that you are playing to win in qp, like it is a great thing to do.
Remember people play this mode to relax, take a brake from comp, train heroes they don’t know how to play and have fun with their 15 lvl friends.
It’s your choice to do whatever you want in qp but this doesn’t change the fact that you will tilt a lot of people while playing only to win.
Most ppl go QP to get practice in with certain heroes, they are still trying to win, they are not throwing and that is where “Its just QP” comes from.
Deal with it.
and who are you to say where it comes from xD
half the community are trolls… and “it’s just QP” is just trolling or a lame excuse to justify your incompetence…
not trying your best is called gameplay sabotage. being bad at a hero but still trying isn’t.
you don’t need to “learn” heroes… you need to learn the game… learning how a hero works is easy and fast. mastering said hero is something else.
got any more flawed logic?
Sorry, but your own logic is flawed. How come not giving your best equals gameplay sabotage?
Gameplay sabotage means you aim to lose intentionally. However, you can only do that by playing worse intentionally.
And right here is your flawed logic:
Not trying your best does not equal to intentionally playing worse.
A rather more accurate logic would be:
Not trying your best equals to not caring about winning that much.
Well, some players use the “it’s just QP” to justify their behavior. It is more tolerated than in competitive because there is no long-term penalty like, for example, losing SR.
If players want to play only one specific hero in order to train them or to just have fun, then it is ok. They don’t try to lose intentionally yet they don’t care that much if they win.
But here is one thing I should mention or, be more specific, confess. I sometimes play friendly and just goof around in quickplay. That could be considered gameplay sabotage or trolling, which is true.
However if my team ask me to stop it then i will stop and start to play seriously. Each time I goof around, I never aim to let my team have a bad time, so if they complain, I’m going to stop. If, however, I continued such behavior, then it truly can be considered gameplay sabotage.
Yet if someone reports me for gameplay sabotage without telling me to stop, I just could say that no one asked me to stop and I thought that it was OK.
Well my behavior isn’t justified by all means. But it’s some sort of reason why i feel empathy for the players who play how they want because “it’s just quickplay”.
Can’t say I agree with you on this. I played OW a lot on console and recently moved to PC, so my aim is bad. If I want to practice my aim on McCree, I’m going to play McCree. I honestly don’t care about winning or losing. Yes, it’s frustrating when you get all dps and get rofl stomped, but I chose to play McCree to practice my aim, because getting rofl stomped while practicing aim is preferable to me than playing someone else and still get rofl stomped because we still have 5 dps.
