We’ve been fighting of power outages here in the PNW for a few days now, which makes internet spotty at best, so I’ve been playing lots of QP just in case. I’ve been cut off during a couple of games now, as well as left two at beginning spawn due to wierdos being creepy in vc and chat, and just waited for the 1-3 mins, fine. Tell me why I’m suddenly banned for two hours? Why have such heavy leaver punishments for a casual mode??
It’s been on my mind for a long while, but I think leaver penalties like this, which only force people into playing matches they don’t want to be in, on top of the super brief end game time compared to OW1 is just destroying any sense of community. No wonder so many people are loading into games already pissed off. Again, in QUICK PLAY casual practice mode.
No such punishment should happen in Quickplay. As I’ve stated many times, it’s, freaking, Quickplay. No-one cares about starting at the beginning, losing or winning. It’s all about having fun in that mode. I’ve never not had fun joining a losing game or joining late for that matter, in that match mode.
Punishments on that mode is a complete joke, and Blizzard need to wake up.
Agree to disagree here; It doesn’t have any effect on rank, therefore it’s casual. I think it’s a mistake on Blizzard’s part to not differentiate more from competitive modes. Playing casually doesn’t mean not trying, it just means you can shrug off mistakes/trolls/leavers etc much more easily. I watched a teammate just yesterday absolutely tear into a brand new player on Mercy in QP, as if their gameplay had any effect whatsoever on their day. It’s not good for new players and it’s not good for community.

The point of this thread is to promote change in how the developers currently treat QP, regardless of its current state.

Game is very old dude, not knowing Arcade/Customs are the casual modes is absolutely sad. Embarrassing really, specially because again, those 2 modes are the only ones without penalties (for years).
